Indeed. With McNabb out I am wondering if perhaps the Saints defense against the Eagles is a better play than the Eagles defense against the Saints.

Brees looks very uncomfortable as soon as you put any pressure on him. I am guessing the Saints will score around 24-28pts

Exactly. I would not start any defense against NO if points allowed and/or yards allowed are a significant factor in D scoring. But if they are not, then the Eagles have as good a chance as any D of putting up a good score. Since Kolb is likely to start at QB, the D knows that it will have to make big plays in order for the Eagles to win.

Yep. All depends on how your league scoring is set up. Lions were huge in the one league I play in with Team D. Lions, Browns and Chiefs: 3 of the top5. Crazy!

If that offense is struggling, the D could simply be on the field too much.

That is the weirdest scoring I have ever seen. It must be based on IDP type stats like tackles so much so that the better Ds are the ones that are on the field for 40 of the 60 minutes, i.e. their offenses suck. That or the commish messed up and you get points for every point given up.

If there were the 1985 Chicago Bears or the Iron Curtain, i might agree with you. The 2009 Eagles maybe the best D/ST there is, and they are a must start, unless they are playing New Orleans. New Orleans has the only elite offense in the league. Of course it does depend on scoring, but in my leagues Defenses are scored for points against and yards against.

Actually I don't see any defense being on the field too much this year v. the Saints. They score pretty quickly.

You get points for low yardage allowed and low points scored. No penalty once it goes past the threshold. You get points for int's, sacks, fumble recoveries, blocked punts/fgs and defensive/ST tds. Both the D/ST and player get points for punt/kick return td's. Pretty screwy. Heavily weighted to td's which are totally unpredictable. Should be more value to teams that don't allow as many yards and points. Packers outscored the Steelers in that league last year.

I get penalized for points against. Also Brees never gets sacked because he reads too quick. There could be some fumble recoveries and for sure a special teams score because the Saints achilles heel is probably special teams. I picked up Atlanta and will play them going against Jake Delhome and leave Philly on the Bench this week.

I'm in a yardage/points league where you start to hit serious negative after 30+ and 400+, and as good as Eagles D is, I'd be happy with single points this week. I was checking wire and put in claim for Atlanta (didn't get them). But I'd grab Skins if I were you.Only other decent play for me looks like (gulp) Denver vs. Browns or (double gulp) Raiders vs. KC.
