Glenn: he was pretty pretty good.

Great song, but I don't view that as a Frey vehicle. Henley sings lead with Meisner providing the high-pitched harmony.

Very hard to pick between "Heartache Tonight", "James Dean", and "New Kid in Town". I appreciate Frey's delivery best when puts some power behind his vox -- the easy-listening stuff is almost too easy for him.

Well isn't that a slap to the nuts. Still my favorite Eagles song too even though I do not own that Eagles album or song. I need to expand my mostly metal music collection. There is a lot of music outside of my typical music zone that I really like but do not listen to enough. And, obviously, I need to learn who is singing each dang Eagles song.

Strangely, when I sing that song in my head, it is still Frey's voice. Maybe all Eagles songs are in Frey's voice to me?

My favorite song with Glenn on lead is Already Gone but I think his best performance is Lyin Eyes

They are all kind of the same. Frey didn't have a whole lot of variance in his vocal performances IMO.

And here I was thinking that the OP and several voters were really sophisticated music theorists, championing Frey's harmony vocal on One of These Nights (there are three backing parts that I can hear clearly - Meisner is the high one, Henley doubles himself, and then Frey) over some of his lead performances.

Anyway, I went with New Kid in Town.
