Victor Abiamiri lined up with the first team at LDE this weekend. May not mean huge stats with the hockey line substitution style the Eagles often use, but worth filing away. Still searching for the first team linebackers...
Yeah, I know. Seems silly. Just wanting final confirmation that it's Bradley inside and Gaither outside. Certainly looked that was at year's end last year, but you never know how the coaches see things after looking at the tape.
I believe there is a second player than can have a radio but there can't be two radios on the field at the same time. Short of Bradley running off and the other guy running off to change helmets in passing situations the odds favor Bradley being 3 down
I pretty much agree with Tony's thoughts above (and msommer). As noted earlier, I'm sure it seemed silly for me to be looking for confirmation on Bradley as the Mike. But that didn't seem to be in the plans until very late last season. On the other hand, we knew the Eagles were grooming Gaither there well before he landed there.I think the take home points are:1. Bradley is the MLB. With little competition.2. Giving him the headset suggests they think he's got it together. We went through something similar with Ahmad Brooks last year, but notes like this strongly suggest he'll be an every down backer.3. Chris Gocong now has even less value than the little he had before.4. Gaither was awful impressive from the weak side in 2006. It won't at all be surprising to see him better his 2007 numbers back at WLB this year.I remain leery of projecting Bradley for big numbers, though. I've yet to see him play and don't remember thinking much of his scouting reports last preseason. Still, it's hard to ignore his Week 16 numbers last season. And there've been plenty of meh guys who put up top 20 numbers -- Danny Clark, Jay Foreman, etal. He'll certainly be rising in my next sets of rankings with this news, though.
