Eagles WRs (1 Viewer)

Seems like McNabb and the Eagles' passing game is starting to show some signs of life. Curtis has obviously been putting up better numbers, although Brown seemed to come alive last week as well against the dreadful Jets.

While the offense runs through Westbrook, the team clearly is a traditional pass-first team.

What are the thoughts about Curtis and Brown going forward?

Curtis.

Reggie being the #1 on the Eagles has always been a misconception. Curtis replaced Stallworth, who was clearly the #1 last year.

Reggie had his moments when Stallworth was hurt. But when all things were equal, Reggie was invisible.

Take a look at Stallworth's stats. Then look at Brown's stats when Stallworth was out. They are very similar. That said, these players will be hit and miss. It depends on who is open.

Philly went into the bye week saying that they needed to get Reggie involved. They came out the next week and did just that. I think that speaks volumes about Reggie and the need for him to be involved in order for the offence to be successful. Curtis is a great #2 WR and will take advantage of the denfence in one on one situations, which is exactly what happened on his TD catch.

The game plan worked, Reggie and McNabb got back in sync, and I expect the same to continue.

Bottom line, Reggie and Curtis are both worth having. Reggie will post more consistent stats from here out, but Curtis will be more boom or bust.

:goodposting: Correct answer here.

;) Correct answer here.
I disagree. Curtis is going to get his targets...not a boom or bust. I would rather have Curtis that Brown. McNabb is still going to go to Curtis in the pinch.

So if Curtis gets hurt, Reggie is a good play, otherwise Curtis is your man.

I'd rather have Curtis - although, most believe Brown is the better one. Good debate though - but I think Curtis is the better pick.

I think you gotta look at the D. If the D has a good pass rush then McNabb isn't getting the ball to Curtis. If the team can't put pressure on the QB (ala NYJ and DET) then Curtis will go off. Definitely a guy that you start against bad D's but someone you sit against. Notice who he plays week 16?

Curtis' targets will be consistent, but I believe his production will continue to be Boom-or-Bust.

He will get 7-10 passes thrown his way every game. How many will McNabb fire into the turf or overthrow? Some games, he may get 2-3 catches on 9 targets. He'll have a few 8 catch for 100+ as well. It all comes down to QB play, and McNabb is far from consistent.

True, McNabb may not be that consistent, but if you could get a guy that gets, on average, 7-10 targets in a pass-friendly offense, that's definitely something of value.

Curtis is McNabb's more trusted target at this pt next to Westy...
Certainly appears that way, although I'm wondering how much of a role LJ Smith will play now that he's healthy. He didn't do much last week, but they seemed to be working him in the gameplan slowly.
