Early Keeper Advice (2 leagues)

I can keep one player from my final 2018 roster and get him the round he was drafted last year (if undrafted, I get him in the 15th)

League 1:

.5PPR,  (I am 9th pick overall in a snake draft), 12 team, QB/2WR/2RB/TE/Flex/K/DEF/6 bench

RB Damien Williams in the 15th

RB Lindsay in the 15th

TE Ebron in the 15th

QB Luck in the 8th

RB Ingram in the 5th

Typically with this few of keepers I treat it like a redraft and keep the best player.

Team 1 really comes down to Williams and Lindsay and will depend on whichever one you personally have ranked better.  I could see an argument being made for either one.  Personally I like Lindsay better as I don't trust Williams.  If I knew Williams was going to be the guy all year he would be the easy choice.  I just don't think he will be.  If you do, then it would make sense for you to take Williams.

Team 2 comes down to Michel or Ingram for me.  I don't really think any of the other players are worth keeping at their price.  Sure you might get a  bit of value but they are all JAG's when it comes down to it and positions that have a lot of good options in the draft.  Choosing between Ingram and Michel hinges on which one you think has the best chance at being the bell cow.  To me that is Ingram.  I just don't trust Michel to be used enough (like he was in the playoffs and down the stretch).  Baltimore brought in Ingram and want to run.  I think he has a big year.  I lean towards Ingram.

Thank you Gally! I appreciate your opinion!

I have Damien higher on my ranking list because I loved what he did for my team last year at the end. Lindsay was kind of disappointing in a couple late season games where i really needed him to produce. That is where Royce Freeman and Booker came into play as far as depth trust. Plus, he had 8 games with 13 or fewer points and only 1 game over 20 pts, where he 'blew up' for 28pts. I don't think Hyde will touch Damien. With that said, here is the catch. Whomever I decide, the other one will do better. I can't win. LOL

Team 2, I think I'm going with Ingram in the 6th. He could be a solid Flex or RB2 start or nice bye week fill in. Only hesitation I have is that it is a PPR league. I've never trusted the Patriots backfield, especially when it seems James White ran away with it last year on a team where I thought Michel should've been the workhorse, and now Burkhead is healthy.

As a Chiefs fan I don't believe in Damien Williams.  He's JAG.  I wouldn't put my eggs in his basket.
I guess I don't consider putting my eggs in his basket when I get him in the 15th round considering I'll be drafting 4 of the best available RBs/WRs in rounds 1-4.

Team 1, I agree with what has been said.  Team 2, I completely disagree, because you're discounting Golladay.  I say either him or Michel.
Golladay is a nice WR.  I like him a lot but he just hasn't translated to fantasy as he seems like he should.  There are a lot of WR's with similar fantasy production.  I just don't think having one keeper only it make sense to take a WR that can be found relatively easy later.

I'm really concerned why so many people are hard up for Michel in this post. I've been burned too many times by a Patriots RB. Belichick is too unpredictable, but that is how he wins. He could give 2 farts about fantasy football, heck, he probably looks to see whom the consensus says will be the guy that week and does the opposite ;)  . I guess I'd rather draft Michel in later rounds and if i don't get him, oh well. I don't consider Michel a good keeper if I can get him in the 7th round or later anyway. No value there. Plus I look at "Will he start on my roster for multiple weeks?" Ingram, yes. Michel, absolutely not unless Burkhead or White get injured. Golladay, perhaps but I plan to get 2 great WRs in the first 3 rounds. Plus, Burkhead is healthy. James White took over last year. Too risky when Ingram seems to be a great choice for a flex play. Ingram is going in the 4th round. Not great value if i get him in the 6th, but he adds to great RB depth for bye weeks.

The love for Michel is based on usage through the playoffs.  Couple that with losing Gronk and there is some thought the Pats may shift to a more run heavy approach with Michel being the centerpiece.  I am not saying this is true.....but it is the rationale behind elevating the value of Michel.   If you believe that then that is why Michel would be of higher value.

Michel does have a few things going against him that have popped up over the last month or so.  Namely, another procedure on his knee and the drafting of Harris.  Both of those are big flags in my opinion and will probably be the reason why I don't have any shares of Michel this year.   I think he is a bit of a stay away but can understand if someone goes all in based on the usage down the stretch (I just wouldn't be that guy).

What is your take on J.Cook in the 15th round?

What is your take on J.Cook in the 15th round?
He is fine but TE is usually easy to find production off the street.  There are always a couple that come jumping out during the season.   I think Ingram is in a great spot and will have a really good season.  He is my easy choice of those listed for Team 2.

I would have to agree and I got lucky last year streaming J.Cook and Ebron on different leagues. Thanks for the confirmation, I'll go Ingram in the 6th. I'm still uncertain between Damien and Lindsay from League 1. Hopefully the usage piece becomes more clear closer to the season opener. Now I'm hearing Lindsay just isn't the 3-down back DEN is looking for and Royce will be the guy. Lindsay is just such a speedster. I'd hate to keep Lindsay and then a full blown RBBC emerges. Also, I've been hearing how Hyde is interfering with Damien's touches already in mini OTAs.   #FFS #FML #SMH
