This is a pretty easy question, but one that needs to be asked. When FF'ers say the term "RB1" when talking about an NFL team, are they referring to the RB with the most carries, or the one who scored the most FF points? A perfect example would be Fred Taylor vs Maurice Jones-Drew. In 2006, Fred had 65 more carries, but MJD obviously outscored him in FF points.

I'm surprised 30% of the votes are fantasy points. I thought it was pretty common knowledge that in 1/1A situations - the guy who gets more carries (is on the field more) is considered the starter. Not the more "effective" guy.

Totally agree - see Jones/Barber in Dallas last year. Jones was the "#1" and had twice the carries than Barber yet Barber had 10 more TDs and a better avg/carry.

I think RB1 is the carry guy myself, but I had a feeling there were a handful who considered FF points the deciding factor. At one point, the vote was 4-3!

A better question...Who cares?

I mean....I care more about either A: Which NFL team wins the game (and how it effects my favorite team)

-OR-

B: Who's scoring the points for my fantasy team

occassionaly A AND B together.

I suspect most NFL head coaches would also say "Who cares as long as we win."

an even better question........why bother posting/viewing a thread that doesn't interest you ?

:lmao: Boredom?Seriously though, the question itself needs further clarification. RB1 for the team he plays for, or for fantasy purposes? AS noted by a couple clear examples in this thread, they are NOT necessarily the same thing.Oddly, the two examples given where there is a difference, the respective coaches would answer this question exactly as I did..."Who cares as long as we win...I'm not going to label two important players on my squad that way."As it is written, there is no correct answer to the question. Worse, it may not matter. We have to find something better to fight over  ...or are we all this bored waiting on the real TC's to begin?

I should've specified that I meant for FF purposes. The reason I made the thread was simple - when discussing on the boards here, sometimes there can be confusion over lingo. And yes, it's a long time before draft day, so boredom played a huge part.
