Edge vs Rams this week - Can he have a good game (1 Viewer)

E. James has landed on the waiver wire and I really need to win this week

and as you can guess my RB options must be really bad to consider this

but can Edge have a good game against STL this week.

I noticed he has had alot of carries most weeks, but not last week.

I don't see many ARZ games so I was hoping others could chime in

with any thoughts.

I need to score as many points this week in order to win and try to win

a tiebreaker with total points for the year so I am just looking at this week's

chances not the rest of his schedule.

I always enjoy reading MOP's RB analysis so that is why I was hoping he would

give me his thoughts

Thanks.

Maurice Morris went for 100 yards against the Rams.

Can Edge light up the Rams? Yes.

Will Edge light up the Rams? Yes.

Just read the blogger article about James missing practice recently. It alluded to the fact that Edge was malcontent with only getting 4 carries vs. the Vikes. I thought that was odd also - I know, you can't run on the Vikings. But didn't he get 30+ carries vs. the Bears?

Anyways, are Edge owners concerned that Green will look to Shipp or Arrington if Edge shows signs of being disgruntled?

Edge posted his second highest total of rushing yards against the Rams earlier this year with 94 yards and a TD. If this is what you would consider "a lot of points", give him a shot.

Edge only got 4 carries vs the Vikes due the game plan. No other RB got a carry. Minny is hard to run on, but can be passed on all day (see the Pats game). It makes sense I guess. He is not getting benched.

I was surprised Edge wasnt a bigger part of the passing game. Denny said he needed him to block more than anything.

He is still averaging 24 touches/game, which is more than every RB except LT, LJ, & Chester. He has been much better after the bye, averaging over 4yd/carry. I think he can go for 100 total yards & a score vs the Rams if he gets 24 touches.

Edge has been rotting on my bench since about week 4. Anything I can get from him at this point is great.

Did you watch the game? I know Green's official position was "It was the game plan," and that's obviously supported by the fact that no other RB got a carry. But it seemed like he was out of the game an awful lot. I don't know if anyone has information on what % of plays he was in on vs. what % he normally sees, but there seemed like a lot of Edgeless snaps in that game.FWIW

This is about right, but I also think this is his upside here. I expect the receivers to have a big game with Edge around 80 yards, with a couple receptions. Whether he gets a touchdown or not will depend on if a ball is caught somewhere down inside the 5 yard line and a receiver gets tackled there. I don't expect any long runs by Edge.
