Edgerrin James = Sell High? (1 Viewer)

PLEASE talk me off the ledge. He was one of my keepers... I liked him with the Colts NOT the Cards. He looks slower... The holes aren't there...

What type of RB could I expect back if I were to look to move him in a trade? Should I even consider trading him this early?

He looks like Arrington and Shipp did last year. The problem was never the backs, although Edge is obviously a huge upgrade, the problem is an OLine that can't run block. This is why I like adding Arrington in dynastys, when the line gets fixed in two seasons, JJ will be a monster.

I'm down on Edge. Guy's got no burst anymore. Never really got it back after the ACL tear. Even after two years later, which is when players are supposed to be back to full speed. But he's on the same team as Fitz and Boldin. That alone will give the guy good opps at fantasy points.Plus he's also very good at other facets of RB play besides speed... vision, toughness, blocking, receiving, experience/savviness. Really, other than lack of burst and maybe a greater than average risk of injury since he has so many miles on his legs, Edge is a very good running back. All that said though, I just didn't think he was worth a 1st rounder this year. If you can get a top flight WR or RB in return, trade him, but otherwise, just stick with him and you should be fine as long as those two ELITE WRs are healthy and performing.I guess Warner is important too if you have no faith in Leinart.

:goodposting: Exactly why I icked up Arrington off the WW 2 weeks ago.

I'd try trading James for Cadillac. People will be down on him after yesterdays performance, but he is still going to have a huge year.

Why the hate for James??? The guy has had a career of averaging over 4 yards per carry. He may not be over 4 ypc this year but he is going to have a L. Jordan type year where he will get plenty of touches via the ground and air and will see all of the goaline work. He still has top 10 fantasy value.

There is no way I would trade C. Williams for him. Williams is not going to get consistent goaline work so if he has a bad game there is a less chance he will make up for it with a td.

If James on the other hand is having a bad game his team can still move the ball with Boldin and Fitz and he will get all the goaline work.

I'd say that's a pretty fair and accurate assessment as long as the passing game in AZ is clicking.Edge is no longer able to be the lead role in an offense over the course of a season. But as a guy getting the game opened for him by other stars, he makes a good play. He should score a good amount in that offense assuming the other parts are there and clicking as well.
