The Makers Mark premade stuff is pretty damn delicious
Picked up some Evan Williams to get myself in the Holiday spirit!
Nasty. Those liquor companies shouldn't be allowed to use the word nog on the labels. Disgusting and nowhere close to actual egg nog.
It ain't great. But it ain't disgusting.
OK maybe disgusting was a bit much...just not real nog. It works in a pinch I suppose.

Bump. About damn time
It is? Not when we'll be hitting mid 90s next week.
I meant for the recipe. Start it at the NFL opener. I forgot last year so this was a PSA
Thanks - when its 103 degrees out I typically think about how good a nice hot cup of milk and eggs would be.
With cinnamon.
Milk was a bad choice but you'll thank me in December. TY to the gentleman who posted the recipe.

Made a Brandy Alexander with Nog, Brandy and Kahlua tonight. Approximately 400 calories per serving. Don't give a ####.

Not fair. I love Brandy Alexanders. Liquor and a milkshake- what's not to like?

For the past several years I have been buying Publix low-fat Eggnog & mixing it with Hennessy.  Maybe I should look into Brandy?  I don't know much about hard liquor, but I definitely prefer cognac to run or whiskey in eggnog

It's time. What do you guys prefer it with? Bourbon, brandy, rum?
Been trying 50/50 mixes of nog+stouts (gingerbread stout, s'mores). So far I'll stick with plain old nog or a shot of bourbon with nog.

Instead of Eggnog, for the Holidays I usually make this...

Homemade Baileys

Ingredients
3 Eggs
2T Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Pint Table Cream (Light Cream)
1 Pint Half & Half
1 Cup Whiskey (to taste!!  :P )

Instructions
Blend all and chill.

Cheers from my FSU whisky glass filled with Publix Low-fat Eggnog & Hennessy.  And cheers to Davonte Freeman!!!!  GO BUCS!  (Probably using the wrong drinkware, but it's a celebration of Davonte Freeman)

Any other Floridians reading this, there's a relatively new rum that's local to my area, not sure how widely available it is.  It's in Total Wine around here, and it's called Code Rum.  They have a bunch of different flavors, but the original spice-flavored rum goes so perfectly with egg nog that I'm convinced it was designed for it.  It's got heavy Christmas spice flavors in it already, drop a shot or two into any store-bought egg nog and your guests will lap it up.  It's not expensive either.

I'm too big of a fan of cognac and nog to go back to run.  What store brand in FL are you using?  I like the Publix low-fat.  Its probably just watered down, but I don't care for it to be too thick.  Farm stores is pretty popular.

Publix nog is pretty solid. That's what I usually get.

I do Alton Brown's aged eggnog recipe yearly, with some tweaks each season. It is fairly strong and tastes great once it sits. Not the fluffy nog some are used to, but you could fold in egg whites when serving if you wanted. Just made this year's batch yesterday, still have 1 jar each from the last two years in the fridge.
