Email send blocking? (1 Viewer)

Over the last 2 weeks or so, I've noticed that I cannot send emails from my personal gmail account from my phone at work on the wifi.  I can receive them, I can send work emails through on it, but it seems my personal account cannot send. 

I can send emails anywhere else, and if I walk a few feet away from the building, the email will finally send. 

Are they blocking outgoing email that is not theirs? 

And no....I'm not sending anything damaging.  Just replying to friends and such but I don't like logging into my email client on my work machine.

Most likely they are blocking the network ports required to send.

 
@Cliff Clavin yes "Cannot send mail, connection to outgoing server smtp.gmail.com failed." then some stuff about configuring outgoing mail in settings. 

but...oddly enough, I was talking to a coworker with the same issue and they mentioned trying the gmail app "inbox" that i have but never used...just went through the apple mail app. Turns out that worked. So for now, at least I can use that. I wonder if it is an apple/gmail thing right now? But anywhere else, I don't have an issue.

The should be a failure code in the email to tell you what is happening.
