End of an Era? Do the Patriots miss the playoffs this year? (1 Viewer)

With Brady healthy under center, I believe the Pats haven't missed the playoffs since 2002.

1) Do the Pats miss the playoffs this year?

2) Who wins the AFC East?

3) What does the near-term future hold for the Pats?

My topic isn't a snap-post. I've been thinking about it for awhile. The Pats don't look like a playoff team this year and didn't look like much down the stretch last year. I'm thinking of doing some more in-depth analysis with stats, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll add it to the thread once I get to it.

They don't look like a playoff team, but they'll be good enough to get to 10-6 and win that garbage division.

Not looking great this year, but watch BB trade Brady for a 1st round pick that becomes an All-Pro and Garoppolo leads them to a Super Bowl next year.

They have been playing in this garbage division for 10+ years now.... The best qB on the bills, fins and jets the last 10 years has been mark Sanchez???

NYJ Chad Pennington, with Miami Chad Pennington coming in a close second.
I'd give a slight nod to Miami Jay Feely Fiedler over Miami Pennington

 one of the best AFC East QBs during the past 15 years I confused w/ a kicker

Miami Pennington was the runner-up in 2008 MVP voting.

No, seriously.

Based on what I've seen, I think Buffalo is better, maybe even Miami as well.

It's not an over-reaction, either. It's the quarter point in the season. Major problems on the O-Line, WR's suck, Brady not looking good, and now the defense looks lousy.

I think Buffalo is a better team on paper, but they just benched their starting quarterback for a guy who was retired two months ago.

I didn't believe so I looked it up. LOL, he was! Well tied for it with Jamaal Anderson. Manning ran away with it, but that's still some random fact I would have never believed.

People always make this "they play in a bad division" argument all the time, but I've looked up the stats and they have the same winning percentage vs. the AFCE that they do vs the rest of the league during BB's tenure.

That said, the Patriots are at best a .500 team this year. They are not good. I think the Fish could win the division at 9-7 on tiebreakers, similar to 2002.

Patriots pretty much never look like a playoff team in September. Where have you been for the past 15 years?

Patriots will not make the playoffs this year. Buffalo or Miami will take the division. Both teams have enough pieces on offense. Just a matter of which defense can play well down the stretch.

Remember when Tom Brady was being dropped in fantasy leagues and NE was left for dead after being whipped at KC in week 4 ?
