Eric Parker Made $500k Today (1 Viewer)

The TV announcers said early in the game that E Parker was going to earn a $500k bonus if he caught 4+ passes today. As soon as I heard this, I knew he was going to have a good game at least for the number of receptions.I wonder where that info could have been available this week. I wish this had been in the blog this week. I should expand my info sources. I don't want to find out about stuff from the TV announcers after the game started. Did any of you know this prior to the game? In a PPR league, Parker would have been a decent play had I known this in advance.FBG's projection of 3 receptions was not realistic given this info, I am assuming Dodds did not know the bonus thing.

I don't know if it was available here but it was on every fantasy news site that I saw throughout the week. I believe I first saw the info on Wednesday. And I've said it before and I'll say it again, Eric Parker is a damn good football player.

It was not here for sure. I am disappointed that it was not. I guess I should not just rely on FBG to know what's going on :(

Why would you assume that Parker would have good day because he needs 4+ catches to earn a half mil? In fact I would say the opposite is more likely. I could have easily believed that he might get benched before he reached 4 so that SD could save money. Benching is easy to do.....improving your ability to catch passes for a single week is not.

FBG told me it was going to be 76 and sunny in Houston today...but it was 78 and sunny!I guess I shouldn't rely on FBG to know what's going on. :(

Smart ### comment that has nothing to do with my point - comparing apples and oranges. Thanks for contributing to this thread with useful feedback.

Read in the San Diego Union Tribune the other day that Parker is considered the hardest working player on the team. I see alot of a young Keenan McCardell in Eric Parker.

Maybe my assumption was wrong, but it turned out right. Brees was looking for him often, even on short routes. Oh well...

Your assumption was correct. Parker is extremely respected inside of the Charger locker room. There was little doubt in Chargerland that Parker was going to get his 4 catches this week. The 500K isn't in the form of a bonus, it's just a salary escalator that increases Parker's 2006 salary to double his 2005 salary, which was roughly 550k.

Exactly...there have been situations were players didn't earn a bonus.I'm amazed that people find this to be a reason to knock this site. I'd be happy to send the complainers a box of Pampers.

I did not knock this site. If I am not happy I will simply not renew my subscription - which is not the case. I just think (as others do) that for week #17 the coverage was subpar. Look, I expect the blog to contain most of the stories on NFL players. It's not a big deal, I just raised the issue without swearing and trashing this site.
