Erin Henderson and Ali Highsmith (1 Viewer)

Can anyone divulge any info on these two guys? According to Bob Sorter's rankings, Erin Henderson was the #57 ranked player overall...yet goes undrafted.

Then you have Ali Highsmith that played well at a top notch college, but he too goes undrafted.

From what I've read about both of them, Henderson would be a good fit on the inside in a 3-4 yet goes to Minnesota in their 4-3. Then Highsmith, from his physique, you'd think would be a decent fit on the outside in a 4-3 but gets signed by Arizona and their 3-4.

Who has the better chance of sticking and putting up solid numbers? Henderson seems stout enough...but Highsmith seems more like a safety perhaps. Also, Henderson has some young guys in front of him while Highsmith seems to have a chance to see earlier playing time due to the lack of top shelf talent and youth in front of him.

Erin's best shot will be getting a shot at backing up his bro....or maybe learning the SLB position to eventually take over for Leber who turns 30 this year?

Roster Locks:

EJ

Leber

Greenway

Farwell

Pope (signed in offseason, don't see them cutting him now)

Fighting for positions:

Ciurciu - don't know much about him other than he was signed for ST abilities

Lehman - don't know anything about him

Rufus - out with torn ACL all last year

Herron - cut by pats, spent most of last year on PS

Erin - was ranked really high (i think as high as a second rounder), still not sure why he went undrafted.

Sartz - don't know anything about him

Highsmith is too small and too slow for the NFL. I think he benefitted from a great front four at LSU. He was projected to go early 2nd day, but after his combine numbers he did a free fall off people's charts. I forgot what his 40 time was, but it was terrible. I thought he perhaps had a chance to play saftey or in a LB in a cover two defense, but he just is not quick enough.

I don't care for either one, but if I had to choose, I suppose I'd go with Henderson, but wouldn't rule out a coin flip. :goodposting:

His knee issues surely scared teams off.

With Highsmith, they say he plays faster than he times, lets hope so. He has some durability issues as well and is not instinctive.

His pro day numbers were significantly better than his combine numbers.FWIW

Highsmith is too small but I believe the most important thing is how someone plays in the actual games and highsmith was a playmaker

The reason henderson didn't get drafted was because of concerns about his durability

I like Henderson but not in Minnesota. The best bet would be if he failed to make the team or they tried sneaking him onto the PS and someone claimed him.

Henderson...while he has had some knee problems...I heard that he tested positive for pot that really determined his draft status...this could be a rumor, but from all that I have read and emails...it seems that was a bigger reason than his knees, but you don't hear about that. Even with his knees he had 133 total tackles 2007...

If true ... surprising they were able to keep this hush hush.

I haven't heard that. I like this play where he strips Ray Rice but looked a little gimpy afterward.
LOL! Yeah...he may have stripped (stolen) the ball from Rice, but he was on roller skates being pushed backwards by the lineman. Hmmm...inability to shed blockers. I'll write that down in my notebook on Erin Henderson. :goodposting:
