Ernie Els 7-putts within 3 feet (1 Viewer)

Unreal, really.  Your golfs-once-a-year hack likely has never done that.   And he essentially gave up on the tournament after the 8th shot, when he nonchalantly tapped the 9th wide.  If he gave a ####, he wouldn't have haphazardly hit the 9th shot like that.

To be fair, he's gonna need a pretty big shovel to make the cut after giving up that many strokes on 1

I give him props for not just smacking the #### out of the ball out of anger like I would have done.

I'm a scrub...shoot around 100.  I've definitely 4-jacked it within 3 feet, but can't remember 5 let alone 7.

I thought the media may be kind and not make a huge deal of this.  Nope.  It was one of the first things reported on CNBC.

'Here to get updated on the stock market?  Watch this meltdown first.'

Please be advised that your once a year muni hacker is not putting on Augusta National greens at Masters speed. Hell yes there are people who would do that or worse. But poor Ernie. I caddied for a buddy in an Open qualifier who had the yips chipping. Horrifying and there is nowhere to hide. More psychological exercise than sport.

Yup.  I felt more sorry for him than anything else.  100% mental - I'd love to see these goobers laughing at him sink that putt on that stage.  We all take for granted how easy the pros make this stuff look.

It was only a 6 putt for a 9 actually.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Ernie Els made dubious Masters history in the opening round Thursday by scoring a 9 on the par-4 first hole -- the highest in 80 years of the tournament.

Els, 46, a World Golf Hall of Famer who has won four major championships, six-putted the first green at Augusta National after chipping from off the green to within 3 feet for what appeared to be an easy par.

It could have been worse. The Masters live scoring had it listed as a 10 all day, until officials conferred, reviewed videotape and determined that Els had taken just six putts, instead of seven. He finished with an 8-over-par 80 and is tied for 81st.
But does he now get penalized for signing incorrect scorecard? Or is that only at end of tournament?
