Has anyone noticed that on espn and also the Sunday ticket fantasy zone are in the stone age of standard scoring? Is it me or isn't ppr standard scoring now days along with all tds are 6 points? I don't know anybody who plays in a league that is in the old days anymore

So you think that someone who has 1 catch for 80 yards should score the same as somebody who has 9 catches for 80 yards? To me that just doesn't make sense. Also why the lower value to a passing td? It is still a touchdown. Just trying to figure out where the 4 point td came from. We also do a point for every 5 rushes or completions and then depending on the league either .15 rushing or receiving after 100 yards or a 3 point bonus. Also for qbs a 5 point bonus for 4 tds and all other positions after 3 tds

Hate bonus points as well. Double counting.

The 3 point bonus is simply because using the free espn fantasy site you can't do the decimal scoring is the reasoning that I got. I personally like the decimal scoring better so that you can go to the.15 per yard instead of .1. All in all its a more exciting game with the higher scores in my opinion and especially ppr it makes more sense to have somebody score higher if they catch 10 balls for 100 yards vs a guy who catches 1 ball for 100. Roethliesberger yesterday was the highest single player I've seen in the decimal league with 75 points. Incredible game. Just outdid portis and Doug Martin in recent memory for me when the had games of 72 and 73

All in all it comes down to what everyone prefers, just thought that the old standard scoring was going more and more to ppr so thinking it is time for espn and nfl network to get with the times on it

I have ran a league for 10 years now and we have always had 4pt passing TDs and no ppr. We start QB 2RB 2WR TE K DEF. We are talking of adding a FLEX but doubt it happens

I know I couldn't play in a non ppr league, to basic. Im in one though where you only get 4 points for QB tds, every other player is 6 and instead of 1 point for 20 yards, it's 25. I think it's a lot more basic then 6 points per td for all players.

What exactly does too basic mean? Are you back in your lab adding up how many points 5 catches will add to your total? It's all relative.

Most leagues I play in are 4 points for passing TD's with Bonuses for over 40 and over 50..

Found that PPR at 1 point per reception was a little :loco: and found the best balance to be 2 points for every 5 receptions.

My first league in 1995 was PPR. I thought that was standard until about 2003. I figured people didn't use PPR because it was too hard to multiply total catches by 1 when they did the scores from the USA today.

4 pt passing TDs, no PPR. I believe the 4 pt passing TDs were created to balance out the offensive positions. Things become very qb dominate when you go 6 and give qb bonuses for td passes and yardage.

However, I do hate the non decimal scoring on ESPN. 19 yard receiving and 19 yards rushing equals 2 pts...really?

And, 80 yards is 80 yard for a wr. You're telling me a bunch of dink and dunk passes for 80 should weigh more heavily than an explosive play of 80? Yeah, I'll pass on that theory.

In ESPN you can easily do decimal scoring... You just set it as 0.1 pts per yard.

It's all relative when it comes to fantasy options. They're all different and one is only better than another in each person's opinion. Non-PPR/PPR/IDP/2 QB leagues, it's just personal preference.

The reason ESPN covers based on the "standard scoring" is that it's their base package. Lazy players can go in, join a random league, and know what they're going to get. That's who ESPN is gearing their content to. They couldn't care less about the 1% of fantasy players who take it seriously, which we all fall into since we're in a fantasy football forum... They want to talk about the mainstream because that makes the money.

It annoys the crap out of me since I mostly care about my dynasty team and with 25 player rosters their Waiver Wire suggestions are never available and their "Deep Sleepers" are last year's draft picks.
