ESPN NEWS.. just reported ...

Saints sources have said TORN ACL ...

gone for the season ...

no link . but i am watching it right now

Ouch for me. I have the worst keeper team in the history of ever and Deuce was my best back.

Ouch for the Saints. That offense needs Bush on the wings and Deuce pounding at the heart of the defense.

Mostly though... Ouch for Deuce. He's been through this once already and this is very close to a career killer. Godspeed.

Wow, does this mean that Bush will be the primary ball carrier? Does this mean we should all run out and get Stecker off the WW? Are the Saints going to ever turn their season around to make either of these guys valuable this season? Too bad for Duece!

I don't own Deuce but that is a tough break for him. He worked hard comng back from the last one. Can a guy seriously comeback from 2 torn ACL's?

That's really terrible news for DMac.

What's even worse is he was stretched out by a pitiful Drew Brees pass when he got hurt....all for nothing.

I would not be surprised if this injury goes all the way back to the NFC Championship game. He looked slow and sluggish in preseason and the same in this regular season.

His career is mostly likely over I would guess.

The only silver lining here is that we might get a chance to see if the "Reggie Bush isn't an every down back" crowd was right or not.

Time for 25 to step up and put the team on his shoulders.

Too bad, in the one league I had Deuce I just dropped him and found that Deshaun Foster wasn't picked up.

didnt Frank Gore tear his ACL twice? Pretty sure he did, not sure if it was in the same knee both times though
yeah but Deuce is at an age now where quality of life questions start coming into play.i love the guy, very classy on and off the field, but the ugly retirement questions have to come into play now.

I WON'T be one of the owners pining for Bush. So he was what, 7 for 15 yards tonight. Let's see, 21 for 45 sounds about right, with half for negative carries.

Feel bad for Deuce...

Tough to blame this loss on Reggie Bush. You can't draw any lasting conclusions on the basis of 7 carries in a game when his entire team's offense bombed historically. The Deuce injury is a bummer, but I'm curious to see how it affects Bush. I'd like to see him get a shot at 20+ touches per game.

I think it's possible for him to come back and would like to see it, but it likely won't be with the Saints. Last year he played well coming off a torn ACL (5th game of 2005) so it's not out of the question that he can be ready by 2008, especially if he goes into a RBBC situation like he had with Bush.

Really really tough break for Deuce. Always a class act and it always sucks when these things happen, especially to guys like him.

I'm not sure this is THAT bad for the Saints. Losing Deuce obviously hurts, but if this breaks them out of this gimmicky offense it might not be all bad. Payton was a genius putting together this offense with Bush out on the wing and a different RB in the game but it was all used up. There was nothing new in it this year, defenses had it down pat. Every gimmicky play they ran had 4 defenders on the spot before the Saints players could even get there. The only success they had was dropping back and passing on standard pass plays and running out of standard formations.

If they try and run that same offense with Stecker replacing Deuce it's going to be a nightmare (as if it wasn't already). It's time to line up in some standard sets and see if Bush can be a real RB or not.

I can't wait.

The hits just keep on coming for the Saints. I don't know which team I feel worse for, the Saints or the Rams.

How about the Bills? They've lost nearly their entire defensive backfield. This has been a tough year.

Deuce is a smart guy and good in front of the cameras and on the mic. If he doesn't make a comeback, he'd be money on the air.

Exactly what I was thinking when he threw the pass. A professional QB had no business throwing that pass, let alone a pro bowler.Saints will be lucky to win 6 games this year.

Something I NEVER thought we'd be hearing ourselves say this year. What a horrible start for a good team.
I'm not sure how good they really are. They may be an 8-8 team that over in 2006. Last year was magical for this team, everything fell into place, the whole country was behind them.

as Parcells said, 'Bush is a satellite, he likes to work in space' he doesn't look comfortable as an every down/featured rb.he's great on the perimeter, in the flat, or in the slot.

I"m one of those who agree with Parcells on this, Bush ,imo, isn't a 25-carry/gm RB..however, he's a great compliment to another RB.
