Did Romo throw for 342(cbs) or 346(espn)? The difference is in f.jones rec yards from each site. Ty.

It's the last play, right?

I'm sure the stats gurus will piece that all together and have an official version by sometime on Monday.

If I understand the rules correctly, all of the net yards gained on the final play should be credited as passing yards to Romo. The individual players should get plus (and minus) yards depending on what they did with the ball in their hands.

I'm guessing the discrepancy might be that one site counted the fumble as negative receiving and passing yards, which I believe is incorrect.

That's my guess at least.

I'm pretty sure Romo will be credited with the pass to Miles minus the lateral yards. Not 100% sure on that, the pass event may end at the point Miles pitches the lateral. Otherwise, Felix loses rushing yards and the fumble.

It probably is the last play, but I was actually more curious about F.Jones' receiving yards, since that is where the discrepancy exists. So, it's either F.Jones 22 or F.Jones 26 receiving yards, which then affects Romo's overall statistics.

EDIT: Ah ok, so F.Jone's rushing yards will be -4 and he will probably regain the 4 yards receiving. May or may not affect some games.

EDIT EDIT: Espn adjusted their stats to reflect 342 for Romo, and 22 for Felix. So now they are the same--they reduced Felix's receiving yards after he "fumbled."

I thought that all yards that occur following a completed pass are credited as passing and receiving yards since the play as a whole is a pass, not a run. But I am far from certain. I'm sure I'll learn something from how this one gets scored.

Yeah, I don't know for certain. In the same boat as you. Could see it going either way.

Romo will get ALL the negative yards up to the fumble, just like he would have received all the positive yards (and the TD) if the hook-and-lateral would have gone for a TD.

Final play will be scored like this:

Austin: 1 reception, 7 receiving yards

Jones: 0 receptions, -6 receiving yards, 1 fumble lost

Romo: 1 completion, 1 passing yard, 0 fumbles, 0 interceptions

Note that Jones' stats will NOT be counted as RUSHING yards or FUMBLE RETURN yards. They are counted as RECEIVING yards.
