Quote:  ESPN execs decided that the song “All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night” will not resonate for games that will be contested in mainly empty stadiums.

In 2011, ESPN removed Williams and his song, which had been the theme song on MNF since 1989, afraid of political backlash since Hank Jr is outspoken and controversial.

In 2017, ESPN decided Williams was the "right fit" for the MNF audience

In 2020, ESPN decides Williams' song will not resonate correctly.

Coming up in '21:   ESPN makes another important, soul wrenching decision, which will be revealed after the election results are known.

As they obviously stand for nothing, maybe ESPN needs a little Aaron Tippin playing on the Muzak system in their Bristol offices.

3 changes in 10 years? My head is spinning.

They should’ve just had him modify the lyrics like they do every week. “All my rowdy friends are home on Monday Night.”

THE HORROR!

Haven’t watched espn more than five times in the last eight months. I hope they crash and burn personally as they play the politics game to much.

I’m not getting into the politics but can I correct your grammar? You want “its” in the subject line.
Good catch.   Mods can't decide whether to move this back to the Politics Forum or to put this in the grammar/punctuation forum!
