Ever hear of a Category 5 Hurricane? (1 Viewer)

ok, so hear me out.  A hurricane is really a low pressure system, right?  why don't we attack the system at its source by adding high pressure, right in the middle?  I'm thinking giant pumps, injecting air from outside the hurricane right into the middle.  The increased air-pressure will blow the damn thing apart.

What happens to the area from which we sucked all that air.  I'll tell you what happens, low pressure and a relocated hurricane.  This only works if we can suck the air from enemy regimes, like North Korea, Iraq, or California.

It appears that Florida's plan to have everyone point their window fans to the east is working!

I like when he says "It touched down as a Category 5"  as if it is a tornado which touches down.  Mr. President, they don't touch down though they do make landfall.
Remember the days it was an expectation that the POTUS knew the difference between a tornado and a hurricane...

The funniest thing about that clip was the interest in getting pictures of his map.  Listen to all those cameras :lmao:   ...everyone knows there's bound to be some sort of idiocy on anything this administration produces like that :lmao:
Actually it's not that funny at all. It's illegal, and it's bizarre, and it's dangerous.

And he just doubled down on it again. He just said there was a 95% certainty that the hurricane was going through Alabama. That's a complete and total fabrication. And why bother?

Tomorrow he'll say the map never existed.  TOTALLY FAKE!

what's illegal?  to draw his own map?

That’s for a forecast, this was a reverse forecast, or maybe a parody forecast. He’s joking, duh.

Is it really a forecast if it's a picture of the past?  Genuine question.

It is a forecast, even though we are looking at it after the fact.  I'm guessing that the intent with the law is to not rile people up with false forecasts of potentially lethal weather conditions, so IMHO the biggest issue I have with Trump was him saying AL was forecast to be hit despite no forecasts actually saying that.  This is just our daily reminder that he's a sociopath.

After all he’s done, it’d be hilarious to see him go down for falsifying a weather forecast.
While it may seem petty for the NWS to correct the President about Alabama it is the job of the NWS to warn the correct population about potentialy dangerous weather.

I did not know that.

Indeed.  I keep clearing that pestilence from my computer and it keeps returning.  Something to do with my wife and kid on the same router, I guess.  It is a curse.  Sorry.
My firm requires me to use IE for “security” and I can’t figure out how to get it to stop doing Bing searches when I type a URL into the address bar.  Most of the time the website I typed in isn’t the top result.

So is the excuse that Republicans are making that if you look at a map from late August that is shows the the hurricane would hit Alabama and Georgia?   Something like August 28th I believe was the date of the map.   That is perfectly fine except for the fact that he made his statements about 3 or 4 days later.  That is like making a bet on the Packers vs Bears game based on spreads you saw a week ago.

Also why couldn't have just used the map of that time to prove his point instead of a putting a sharpie to the one he used.   The only two options are:

1.  laziness

2.  He knows that his supporters will always believe him so doing something stupid isn't going to be an issue.

The most bizarre part is why Trump is making a thing about this.   He made a statement that was incorrect, everybody makes mistakes, just let it go.   Nope, not Trump:  he has to doctor maps and double down on his idiocy.   What a dope.

I'm 100% convinced he releases false news to the media so he can come back later claiming "See fake news "

Yes that must be it but at this point he's already convinced his supporters that all media other than Fox is fake news.  There is not much point in confirming to everyone else you can't admit that you made a mistake and will lie about it to try and prove otherwise.

The flaw in this argument is that Trump proclaimed on 9/1 that Alabama would "most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated", but the National Weather Service models had already downgraded the potential impact on Alabama on August 30th.

Not to mention the fact that he completely misinterpreted what the maps said. None of them said Alabama would be hit by the hurricane.

It should be noted that according to Fox News we can’t be certain the forecast map was altered in any way.
Probably has to do with lighting and camera angles.  Or it could be that they are still in the tank for the president to the point that they do not believe what their lying eyes are telling them.  Maybe it is like a magicians trick where the hand is quicker than the eye, but in their case it is the handouts that quicken the eye.
