What is this draft all about?
in 2003, a group of message boarders were invited to participate in an FBG-sanctioned survivor commentary draft. we wrote up extensive commentary for each of our picks and eventually some of us were added to the FBG staff.2004, we all decided that the league was one of the most competitive we had been in so we decided to keep it going. FBG had us write up commentary again and posted it on the site, but it wasn't as detailed this time.2005, we lost a couple owners but replaced them with quality people and kept things going. We didn't write up any commentary for FBG but kept track of things here on the message board.2006, this is the 4th year we've been doing this and we now have an equal balance of 6 of the best message board posters and 6 FBG staff members. Without fail, this always winds up being one of the most competitive leagues I'm in each year.

Thanks - was that so hard LSUCKS? :P

I think getting Portis at nine was a good pick, he'll have to take Betts a bit earlier then his ADP but it's a solid pick.

I would have taken Rudi though before Lamont Jordan. Rudi is gold especially with Perry having multiple issues (legal and health).

He could have taken Edge, but that line scares me. He should be the next RB to go.

Nobody wants to hate on Portis at #9? Or was that the SOD thus far?
it's a risky pick given the shoulder injury but I felt his upside was easily worth the #9 pick.
Not wanting to hijack this draft/thread... but is Portis really going down to number 9 with the injury?... He was without a doubt the 1.04 / 1.05 pick earlier (redraft) along with Barber...I'm surprised that this injury would make him drop that much - especially when you think he has already took off the sling and is back at running full speed...

In my opinion, every RB is just a bad hit away from being out for a while (and many of those will cause RBs to miss time during the season, not the preseason- this year)... to downgrade him that much - when we know he'll be back early in the season - is just wrong...

No one can say, in a convincing way, "I've passed on Portis at 1.05 (or 1.08!) because Rudi is much less of an injury risk"... since we all know that "Everyone is a risk injury"

Obviously, no one can tell right now if my beliefs on the minority of this injury are correct assumptions or not - this is just my gut feeling...

Sorry for the hijack - back to the draft!

ETA: And to think I posted this one up just before the news broke out about Duckett being traded to the Redskins... lovely...

Have to say that I'm very happy getting SJax. He's #1 currently on my ppr board, although SA is the "safer" pick. I didn't adjust the rankings for a non-ppr league at the RB spot, but SA, LJ, LT are all in the same bucket.

:lmao: ...the "S-JAX is my #1" schtick is great comedy.
Wow...if it isn't the guy who owes me $20 and the guy who will owe me $10 both appearing at the same time.
Onion rings w/ that BBQ Bass?TIA
Edited for accuracy and your career aspirations.

Is there a live draft site?? ... someone PM me a link to watch if possible.

LHUCKS - how many more drafts do you have? I'm still wanting to see some of your rankings that you haven't made public -UNTIL- your through with your leagues.

Updated through pick 21.
LHUCKS enlighten me as to why in a PPR league you would take McGahee in the 2nd round over Fitzgerald or Marvin? Would you have taken Willith over Holt or Smith as well?
It's not ppr for RBs. Also, I have a unique strategy for WR scoring in this format.
Come on, now. I taught you everything you know about WR scoring in survivor leagues.

Fred and Rudnicki usually draft with a similar approach.
