Extremely addictive game (1 Viewer)

I started playing this a couple weeks ago, and was seeing the numbers in my sleep. Took a couple days to start building up points over 10K and reached the 1024 tile eventually, but I would keep screwing something up. After a couple more days, I finally beat it and took these screenshots to send to buddies similarly addicted. The level of relief I felt at the time was exhilarating.

10452 on my first try. I was in the zone, apparently. I did find the more I tried to plan my moves ahead, the worse I did.

Getting a 1028 tile is easy if you

just make a concentrated effort to keep the big numbers on one side
. I'll have to try again when I get more time. I'm guessing the real strategy involves getting that second 1028.

Not sure what I did, but I got that 10,000 score my first try. I've played about 15 games since and haven't been able to get past 3000.

I can get to the 512 k tile pretty easy, just can't get hat second one right next to it

I find its ok to go up and down, but you can only go left OR right, not boh. That's when things get screwy.

13788. Highest cube was the 1024. I had two of them and couldn't get them together. I seriously have been staring at this game for the past 2 hours.

Dumbest game ever, how could you waste more than 1 try on it? As dumb as the golf tee game at Cracker Barrel while you wait.

Work is slow today thankfully...just got 16,300. I was pretty close with a 1024 and a 512 piece.

I could see those unable to handle this heightened level of mathematics struggling with the concept.

Damn, hit 16416. Wife called me while I was playing and I hit a wrong key and messed it all up. I had everything in order 1024 512 256 were all stacked neatly along one side

I just beat it too. Final score is: 20220

It gives you the option to continue playing, so I think I'll see how far I can go and then forget this game ever existed, lol

edit: final score 23972

Any tricks? I try to keep the large tiles either all on the bottom, or off in one bottom corner.

I started playing the game like old school tetris thinking I could only move the tiles downward, not realizing I could move them in any direction. :bag:

Finally beat it.

At the beginning, I just mashed Down and Left in alternating order, eventually getting a big block in the bottom left. Then I just played it like a game of snake.

Say I got up to 256 in the bottom left, the board would look like:

16

32

64

256

down the left side. Then I'd add blocks to the second column so it looked like

16 8

32 4

64 2

256

etc. match the 2, move up to the 4, 8, over to the 16, down to the 32, then 64. Ended up with a 128 above the 256. Then, repeat, at all costs. Move a block above the new 128 and once it was like, an 8, move a couple of 4s next to it. Keep building up blocks in order in a zig-zag pattern up and down the columns. Just like a game of snake. I turned down obvious moves to keep the pattern intact. Never hit Right if at all possible. Built up a chain over and over and over again, carefully thinking out each move, to make sure that the left column never moved and that the biggest movable blocks kept building up the chain. It's a lot of 2/4/8 and only having 2 columns to work with, you want to have the 1st and 2nd columns pretty much pinned in place.

I tink I've found the worst strategy possible.

1. Do left, right, left, right, left, etc. until you can't make any more moves.

2. Now do up, down, up down, etc. until you cannot make any more moves.

3. Back to step 1.

Can't even break 1000.

Most recent attempt this way got me 272 points.

Actually got a game just under 34k last night. Was very close to getting two 2048s. Had a 1024 and 512 ready to go when I ran out of space.

Finally got the 2048 tile this morning. Have had the game open in a browser tab on my phone for a week, driving me nuts. Just closed the tab, never to be opened again.
