I just traded Dalvin Cook for Jay Ajayi in my salary cap dynasty league. Ajayi is $12 for this year and next. Cook is $2 next year then likely $17 for 3 more years. My team is 3-1 and in win now mode. So. How'd I do? I really like Cook so feeling mixed about it.
For win now mode of course you did good. For Dynasty I would rather own Cook. I don't trust Ajayi's knees and find him to be too inconsistent for my liking.
Everything has to fall into place to make a trade like this. I would think you could have gotten someone better than Ajayi for the potential of Cook but I am not a fan of Ajayi. Consensus though he is solid so if you are looking only for this year it is a solid move. I would have held out to see if something better was a match (like I said I don't like Ajayi).
If you're truly in win now mode then Cook is a great trading chip to try and find a stud to win now with. But I agree with Gally; I don't think Ajayi is what you should have bought. Would have rather seen you find an out of contention team and gotten someone like McCoy or maybe even Freeman
