Fair Trade? Dez Bryant for Willie Snead (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
So we had a trade in our PPR league - Dez Bryant for Willie Snead.  I am the commissioner and chose to allow the trade, even though it was against my interest (and partially because of that - I didn't want to be accused of favoring myself).  This week, I am playing against the owner that received Dez, and he also has Dak, so if they stack TD's I am probably done for.

Just wondering if there is ANYBODY that would take the Snead side of that trade, because I consider it pretty lopsided.

The guy who received Snead is 6-2 and leading my division (I am 5-3) and the owner receiving Dez (who I am playing against this week) is 3-5.

Oh, and if I didn't mention it, I am playing against the guy that received Dez this week.  Not that it is affecting my thinking at all.

I'm just hoping for a monster week from Zeke so there are no TD passes in this game for the Cowboys.  Since I am playing against Dez and Dak this week.

That is a bad trade for the team that received Snead, but our league would have allowed it to go through as you did.   Our commish feels we are all big boys and if we want to agree to a crappy trade, it is our hands.   This may seem like the easy way out, but at some point the micro managing of the league needs to end and let owners learn for themselves.

Good luck this week.  As you hope, a big week from EE could neutralize at least some of the Dak /Dez connection.

In seven years I've only vetoed one trade - it was so ridiculous I think it was intended as a joke.  Neither of the participants in the trade ever complained about the veto.

I have no problem with crappy trades.  I always try to find some possible angle to say maybe the other side has a point.  If you can find one publicly listed site any place that said "Start Snead over Bryant"  or "Snead is better ROS than Bryant" then that would be good enough for me.  In this case, my justification was Snead had scored more points so far than Bryant this year (obviously because of the injury), so who's to say that trend won't continue?

I do have a problem with collusion.  If that's what this is, and they attempt a trade-back, I have always said I will approve the first trade, but the second one to trade-back will be vetoed.

I got some revenge I guess - this week Dez scored 2.9 in our league while Snead scored 6.6, so neither one was impressive, but the trade actually helped me this week.  I'm also currently leading by 21.5 (Thanks, Melvin Gordon!)

He still has Devontae Booker tonight and I have Christine Michael tomorrow, so hopefully I can pull off the win AND feel good about not vetoing the trade.

As has been said multiple times, the only reason to veto a trade is due to collusion.  If that is not the case then allow the trade.
