Falcons RB Norwood Continuing To Impress (1 Viewer)

From the Footballguys News Blogger:

Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Jerious Norwood continues to impress this off-season, particularly with his ability to pick up blitzes and his receiving skills. His strong performances are continuing to fuel rumors that running back T.J. Duckett might be traded by the team.

Never before have I been so happy to hear that one of my players is losing his job. (Duckett)

I guess you are even more upset now with me drafting him at 1.16 when you had the 2.01 pick ;) :goodposting:

Thanks for the info. I am keeping an eye on this. I draft at the turn in our rookie/FA draft and if I have to choose between the likes of Norwood, Drew, Holmes, Jackson etc.... I may take the chance on Norwood instead.

I think I need to start paying more attention to this guy. Dunn just turned 31 and probably won't be around much longer, while it's clear Duckett is not going to be the future.

We may be talking about the starting RB in 2007, if not this year if Dunn gets hurt.

took Norwood at 1.11 and am so far not regretting it a bit!
In a 16 team dynasty I took him at 1.12. It cost me A.J. Hawk :hot: who went at 1.13 but I got Greenway at 1.14 and Sims at 2.03. So I'm a happy camper.

I took Norwood with the 1.13 pick in a 32 team dynasty. He's nice insurance for J. Lewis and D. Foster. :)

Nice to hear the draft went well. I think Norwood can be a good pro, but his owners will have to be patient.

Wow. 32 team league. How long have you been in existence? How many years until those picking in the late 20's or 30's of the initial draft can compete? In that size draft it would seem that the only viable start up option would be an auction to be fair to all owners.

Congrats on your incredible draft. Looks like Norwood is a great pick at 1.11. :sarcasm: June people, it is June...
Wow, I totally thought it was August! Thanks for the update, I will shut down now and return a few days before my drafts begin and hope for the best!

It's our first year. Each owner got to bid on whatever team he wanted (if you wanted a high draft pick you had to pay a little more ofcourse), then when you got your team you got to match the bid of one offensive and one defensive player from that team during the auction. We did a blind auction style draft for the veterans then we did our rookie draft the same way the NFL does there's except we don't take trades into consideration. (Ex: the Houston franchise picked first, etc.) We have to assign contract years to the players and years are extremely valuable. Can't sign anyone to more than 5 years.
