Fanduel/Draftkings Week 14 (1 Viewer)

Just cobbled together my "first look" lineup:

QB: Aaron Rogers

RB: Arian Foster

RB: Pierre Thomas (has looked much better @ home)

WR: Kenny Stills

WR: Cecil Shorts

WR: Greg Jennings

TE: Jordon Reed

D: NY Jets

Yikes it's getting expensive! Defenses have spread out quite a bit, so I went cheap against a rookie QB and will hope for the best. As the week progresses, I'll be paying close attention to Harry Douglas and Latavius Murray - hopefully some clarity will emerge. Of course this will change quite a bit, I'm sure, but it's a start!

did this real quick:

QB: Sanchez

RB: Anderson

RB: Crowell

WR: ODB

WR: Josh Gordon

WR: Benjamin

TE: Ertz

K: Dawson

D: Broncos

Even against the Seahawks, I like Sanchez at his price. Sanchez has yet to be in a close game where has to keep throwing/keeping the offense moving. I'll stack him with Ertz as he may be the only one to get loose in the 'Hawks secondary. I do remember Gates went off against the Seahawks earlier in the year.

vs Panthers, W 21-45

@ Packers, L 20-53

vs Titans, W 24-43

@ Cowboys, W 33-10

All these games were not close, which capped Sanchez's value.

This lineup has the highest projected points of any I've dabbled with so far

To Maurice:

I'm really liking the daily games content being put together by you. I like to start with the "On The Daily" line-ups and tweak from there. I am wondering if it would be difficult to add the number of game formats that are available in the "Interactive Value Charts" to the "On The Daily" link? The Interactive Value Charts tend to have Sunday Only, 4 pm only, primetime, and mon-thurs formats available while On the Daily will usually only have all remaining games, 1 pm, and 4 pm-mon formats.

Thanks

Wow... I don't post very often but only read his stuff like every week... for some reason that's what was always in my mind. I'd edit it, but I am secure enough in my dumbness and I think I've been a footballguys paying member for long enough to get a free mistake.

So... to Maurile... sorry i'm a #######

I'm going to have to see if I can get a nice lineup together with Rodgers in it.

Hard to imagine him not throwing for like 10 TD's this week.

A true/good/bad/embarrassing story:

At the end of September I finally lost my initial buy in from last year and didn't play for four or five weeks. At the end of the day I just don't think I'm very good at this game.

But at the end of October I logged on and was debating about whether to reload (fun!) when I saw that, thanks to a 20 cent deposit bonus refund, I actually had one dollar in my account.

So I put together a tournament entry and won $5.

Clearly that was a sign from on high, and I love a challenge, so I did some reading and got more systematic about it.

8/9 double-ups and 50/50s and 8/14 big tournaments later, and I'm up to $34. From $1 that I only had because the refund pushed me over the top.

Three more 3300% returns and I'll retire.

Shouldn't be that difficult :D

I figure the end of next season should do it.

Wonder if Eli can light up the Titans D like Fitz did last week?

I really don't wanna have to rely on Eli though.
Screw Eli.. He had the Jags last week and Coughlin said they would have been better off knelling throughout the 2nd half then let him throw.. OK, I added the "Let him throw" but the rest was true.. ;)

Last time I play that bum <_<

:goodposting: I might throw him in a GPP lineup just because but after being burned by him multiple times this year he will be nowhere near my 50/50 or double up lineups no mater how juicy his matchup is.

I have been playing on Fanduel and Draftkings for a while now, but I am still kind of new to this. I am winning about 80% of my 50/50 and making an Ok profit. Any of you guys ever play FantasyUp? There is NO rake until April 2015 and also offer excellent promotions. I signed up this past weekend, just curious if you heard good things about it, he loves the site, he plays on 5-6 different 1's and made me sign up here. Check it out, I am curious what you think of it.

If the price is reasonable, a Tannehill / Wallace stack against a horrid Ravens secondary will be in a lot of my lineups.
What about a Eli-Beckham stack going against Tenn? Granted it'll cost $15,5k but that could be a nice stack.

Not sure if I'm in this week. I'd need to reload.
Stay in conservatively. 2 different lineups in $2-$5 games. Revisit what didn't work last week and fix it.
I have all those FDuel points to spend so I guess I'll at least do that.

I'm wondering if I made a mistake with my double ups? I usually do 50/50s, but after seeing what others had been saying I switched to double ups since the points you needed to cash were similar. I wanted $500 in play in cash games so I just did 2 $200s and 1 $100. I was so near the line that I'm wondering if I had just stuck with 50/50s or done $25 or less 50/50s if I'd have had a better weekend.

It may be just me, but playing only a couple larger contests provides more risk of losing. I would have gone with something like 4 $50s, 8 $25s and 10 $10s or something like that. Yes, your ceiling is lower, but the floor is higher (to use FFL terminology).

My first run using Mt's tool going RB "heavy"..

Cam Newton
Eddie Lacy
C.J. Anderson
Odell Beckham Jr
Kelvin Benjamin
Allen Hurns
Delanie Walker
Shayne Graham
Minnesota Vikings

May just have to "run with it" for an entry or two ;)

Gotta think Shayne Graham is on a whole bunch of lineups for $4,500 kicking at home in the dome. That looks like stealing.

Ha! The experts aren't yet on to the fact that while the Ravens run D is solid, their pass D is beyond bad. Must win for the Dolphins, tough run D, soft pass D, home game. I'm assuming that Tannehill gets at least 3 TDs and some rushing yards.

This is what I'm thinking. I started with a $75 deposit and I'm at $450 now. I don't want to get greedy and jump up and lose it all in two weeks. The lineups I like I'll probably move to some $10 games and just stick with the $5's for the rest. Even if I lose it all by the end of the season, I'll have gotten more than $75 worth of entertainment.

All else being equal, it's harder to cash in double-ups than in 50/50s (that's why they pay out more when you do). You need to finish in the top 45% or so to cash in a double up, while you only need to finish in the top 50% to cash in a 50/50.

There could be some reason that, despite this, the score needed to cash would be the same but that theory is probably just an artifact of a way-too-small sample.

In any case, if you only enter a handful of contests you're going to lose all of them in a single week eventually, especially if your lineups are highly correlated (or if you used the same lineup in all of them). If $500 was a big portion of your bankroll, it's way too much to have riding on three contests imo.

I was thinking that that huge double ups (like 1000+ entries) might be a good bet vs 50/50s for exactly this reason -- there's a certain number of most of these tournaments that have pros/good players, so the deeper you go the more "junk" entries as a percentage of all entrants there might be.

But I haven't seen anything like that.

The problem with adding more game-time categories (or more sites) to On The Daily is that it already takes about as much time to run as is practical if I'm going to update it between inactive list disclosures and kickoff. If I wanted to add Sunday-only, for example, that's an additional 40 optimized lineups it has to find (four projectors * five sites * [primary + secondary]), and it would just take too long to run.

If you want a good starting place when On The Daily is not available, sort the value charts by H-value, enter the top three or four guys from the resulting sorted list, and let the app fill in the rest of the blanks for you. That will give you the same lineup or a very similar one to what On The Daily would give you for a given projector.

I'm with you on Eli, but it is really difficult to overstate how horrible the Titans are. Maybe -- MAYBE -- Oakland is worse overall, but for my money the Titans are currently the worst defense in the NFL. They're more horrible against the run than pass statistically speaking, but that's more a function of consistently being blown out early because the offense might be worse than the defense, and that's saying something.

Manning-Beckham is #22 on the list (which displays only the top 20) at 30.8 projected points for $15,500.
