1.07 - Clinton Portis

I'd be about as thrilled as could be to get Portis at #7.
Carlton, what did you think of McGahee and Rudi before him?
I don't think either pick was solid. I would prefer to trade down to someone that was gaga for Portis.

Boldin @ 3.08 = steal
Yeah he was 15th overall last year in this scoring. And people took FTaylor/Benson over him. Even if those guys have amazing years, it's very unlikely they match Boldin in PPR.Draft LT

Draft Lewis

Then draft Fred Taylor in PPR? With Boldin right there? His WRs are turning out nice, but if I could drop Fred Taylor for Boldin? Gimme some of that.

In PPR with a flex, I hate going RB RB RB. And my last 2 RB are Lewis/FTaylor = :X .

One of the problems with analysing these picks for redraft purposes is that there have obviously been trades made with the picks which can drastically affect a choice if for instance the team acquired an additional second round pick and doesn't have a pick in the third round.

Capt, how do you mean? Do you think that the analysis should call out the trade made? Would this solve that issue?

Surprisingly, only one trade was made.

I was unaware that this draft was still being done or that some of these owners are still considered experts. The analysis is always interesting though.

Benson @ #30.... T. Jones @ #56.

Hmmm....
what would you have them at?
I didn't comment because I thought it was ridiculous or anything like that.I'm a Benson owner, and sometimes it's hard to have a non-biased view of the situation. It was just interesting to see that someone clearly sees Benson as more valuable than TJ, at least at this juncture. And it wasn't only the person who made the pick. 25 more picks went by before Jones was selected.

Bledsoe in the 5th is ridiculous...

And he was the 4thQB taken with some quality WR's and TE's on the board and the likely starting RB in Tenn. But if you really want QB then why not McNabb, Hasselback or Eli? Just thinking outloud. I would've waited on QB at that point.

Well when the owner is making it fairly clear that Benson is his guy I think he's going to get his shot. I'd be surprised if he got less than 300 carries. He drafted him, welcomed him back after a hold out, paid him and now wants to see him earn his money.

I would guess the consensus was Benson as a starter and Jones as the backup, a top backup. While no one would compare him to LJ, that is about where last year's top backup went.

FanEx was founded 10 or 12 years ago out of the orignal fantasy forum - fantasy.rec.sport newsgroup by guys like Greg Kellogg, Joe Bryant and others back when they were all just passionate FFers. Most eventually went into the business, but some didn't, and that's refelcted in the draft once in a while. Currently, about 90% of the membership have FF website affiliation. And what is an "expert" anyway? Some guy who runs a website? Hardly. In this age information overload there are no sleepers, so it all comes down to opinion and the ability to anticipate how situations unfold before they do. I dare say most of the people who haunt this board in the off-season would qualify.FanEx is what it is. An experts league sprinkled with a few ham and eggers.
