Fans to walk out in Detroit?! (1 Viewer)

Don't forget the Lions are also paying Mariucci for 2 years to do commentary on the NFL Network.

As for this week's game, if Lions ticket holders want to make a statement, find a Bears fan and sell him/her your ticket.

Does Millen have compromising pics of Ford with farm animals? For the life of me I can't understand why Millen is still the GM. In Ford's eyes, what has Millen done to justify his position?
That's what I was saying in another thread. Ford and Millen might be all chummy, but Millen has GOT to have something BAD BAD BAD on Ford for him to be kept around after the absolute worst stretch of losing I think I've ever seen.
These posts assume Ford cares about winning. I've yet to see any evidence that this is the case.
Exactly. Ford is slowly slipping downhill healthwise. His son really doesn't care much for the team.

I have mixed feelings about Millan. I see him working with some of his moves, and I've really disliked some. The main problem here IMO, this from following the Lions for 40+ years is simply the fact that Ford cares only about putting ###'s in the seats, and not about winning football games. The Lions used to be a very respectable/feared team before Ford got his hands on this orginazation and ruined it's proud tradition. We USED to win Championships.

I'm more concerned with Ford selling this team to someone that's interested in restoring the proud tradition of Lions Football rather than Milan getting fired only to have yet another patsey replace him and continue down the same path that we've been on with the Ford regime.

I live in Lion country (Bronco fan) and admire the fans for being devout.I kid my son-in-law by buying Bronco gear for his infant son.I tell him I am worried about his 'sports psyche' development and that he needs an winning team to root for. (Its not like I am buying Packer gear)He is finally agreeing, which is a big step for him, he is diehard.
Your son-in-law is a sell out......next he will be cheating on your daughter. You have to be true to your team regardless if there is a better looking team out there. Nice job teaching your son-in-law the spirit of throwing away loyalty.

What same path? With Chuck Schmidt as GM from 90-00, the Lions were 88-88. That's a far cry from Millen's 23-71.

C'Mon Sparty, ScHmidt had the good fortune of having the greatest pure runner to ever grace the game of football. Mr. Sanders was directly responsible for 50% of those wins on his ability alone. I'm not gonna rush right out and commend ScHmidt on his outstanding efforts, hell even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. I'm not defending Millan by any means, simply saying that Ford has NO DESIRE to put players in place to build a champion and suggest to you that HE is more the problem than Millen. However, I would like to see BOTH disapear...Ford first!

My son-in-law is diehard. He would never give up on the lions. It's his son I buy Broncos gear for. I have an investment there in blood. I feel it's my duty to give the kid a break.

Is there any truth to the rumor that the fans are walking out with 8:57 left in the first half because it's the last year the Lions won the championship: 857 AD

I seen about 8 around me trying to get others to walk out, I would guess maybe around 100 or so is all I noticed around the stadium.

My guess-- Millen keeps his job.

Of course 10-20% of the seats were empty and 25% were probably bears fans.
