What are the chances of Detroit being next seasons cinderella story if their starting roster consisted of:

CURRENT ROSTER

RB RUDI JOHNSON

RB KEVIN SMITH

QB JON KITNA

WR CALVIN JOHNSON

TE CASEY FITZSIMMONS

C DOMINIC RAIOLA

G STEPHEN PETERMAN

G GOSDER CHERILUS

T JEFF BACKUS

LB ERNIE SIMS

LB JORDAN DIZON

DE CLIFF AVRIL

FREE AGENTS

WR TJ Houshmandzadeh

S Jermaine Phillips

S Oshiomogho Atogwe

CB Nnamdi Asomugha

CB Dunta Robinson

DRAFT PICKS

T MICHAEL OHER (#1)

LB JAMES LAURINAITIS (#20)

DE MICHAEL JOHNSON (#33)

DT RON BRACE (#65)

DT TERRANCE TAYLOR (#83)

If this is not enough what do they have to do?

After Jon Kitna is concust in week 2, than whose gonna be the QB?

The Oline needs more help then just 1 OT.

There Run D would still be pretty bad, but their pass Defense would be killer.

On the season they'd finish 4-12.

Kitna is going to be cut, Culpepper just restructured to not be cut

Rudi is a UFA

both of these guys will be franchised:

CB Nnamdi Asomugha

Simple answer is no. I understand that some teams have turned things around relatively quickly, such as Cleveland two years ago and Miami last year but Detroit is historically bad. They've won 1 playoff game in their franchise history since SB 1 where other teams who've slipped over time have some type of history somewhere where they had some success.

Last year's Lions are the worst team in history. We don't know how long it will take for Detroit to come out of this blackhole but I feel pretty secure in the fact they don't go over .500 next year. If Detroit could go 6-10, that would be outstanding.......I think 4-12 would be more realistic.

Ah, a dose of realism. All the way? I'd say the odds of them going 0-16 again are better than the Lions winning the SB.This town is so used to a loser, and being called a loser by national media that this town would erupt if the Lions just make the playoffs. But that's not going to happen, they'll have a top-10 pick next year to secure a franchise QB if they don't do it this year.
