Fantasy Football on Facebook (1 Viewer)

There is an article today in the SF Chronicle about a new fantasy football app on Facebook from Citizens Sports. Anyone going to try this out for this season?

I was thinking of joining a public league to play with it. Thought others who use it might want to report their experience to the Shark Pool.

It's free. It has free live scorings. Not sure what other features it has yet.

I'm curious as to how it will be. I've pretty much limited my FF to my one main league, but still very intrigued by how they handle format, interface, etc.

They've pretty much teamed up with Sports Illustrated on this as well.I've serached it out on Facebook and, from some of the comments I saw, it needs some work still. I don't think there's IDP support and the scoring systems don't seem as customizable as many others that are out there. If you're a Facebook user and want to give it a go without really caring, go ahead, but if you're used to the customization that MFL, RTSports, etc. offer you, you'll probably be disappointed.

One thing I have yet to figure out is how the heck do you navigate to the league(s) you are in, it's like you have to bookmark it in your browser or go through your notifications to find a link to it. It does not show up under Groups or Applications. I have a draft at 1EST today and I expect it to be 80% empty (i.e. autopick), but we'll see.

great...3 owners out of 16 showed up, public yahoo leagues cannot be this bad, can they be?

Interesting - I was just thinking the other day that most of the FF sites would do well to try to incorporate some of the social networking features of Facebook into their sites. This appears to be going at it from the other direction - but I would not be suprised to see another more established site integrate Facebook or MySpace or at least incorporate some of the same kinds of features.

This is the same people that do www.Protrade.com. Jeffrey Ma (one of the people from the movie 21) who is a avid fantasy baseball player.

Site crashed like 6 times for me, and when it crashed you had no clue - when a team was on autopick if the timer counted down to 0 and did nothing that was a pretty good clue. Worst part was that only 3 managers showed up to draft, a few showed up mid-draft. Autopick was way too fast, you could not keep track of who was taken off the board. Plus when they were drafted you cannot see WHO was drafted sorted by position and/or last name. Interface overall is o.k. but not there yet.

picking from the 5 spot, 16 team, standard scoring (QB, RB RB, WR WR WR, TE, PK, DT)

1.05 RB Steven Jackson

2.12 WR Marques Colston

3.05 QB Drew Brees

4.12 RB Selvin Young (could of had Calvin Johnson, was picked before 5.05)

5.05 WR Lee Evans

6.12 WR Santana Moss

7.05 RB Ricky Williams

8.12 TE Greg Olsen (site crash/auto-pick was going for Sidney Rice)

9.05 QB Eli Manning

10.12 DT Giants

11.05 RB Chris Perry

12.12 WR Kevin Walter

13.05 RB Leon Washington

14.12 PK Matt Prater

according to my sheet I ended up with:

QB: Brees(QB3), EManning(QB15)

RB: SJackson(RB4), SYoung(RB23), RWilliams(RB27), CPerry(RB38), LWashington(RB44)

WR: Colston(WR7), LEvans(WR24), SMoss(WR29), KWalter(WR39)

TE: GOlsen(TE15)

DT: Giants(DT7)

PK: Prater(PK15)

The league on Facebook I was aked to join is a list draft. Do they have live draft?

In any case the software was slow and trying to drag the names into the right slots was a nightmare, so I just gave up.
