Fantasy Football - playoff edition (1 Viewer)

I apologize for those of you who think this should be in the "help" section.

First year our league has incorporated a playoff edition of FF. Good Money available to the winner.

I have been thinking about my strategy and wanted to get some general feedback from those of you who have done this before.

We use a standard scoring system with bonus pts for TD's w/yardage + pts/reception.

We will pick:

1 qb

2 rb

2 wr

1 te

1 k

1 def

My initial thought is to grab one WR and one RB from both the AFC and NFC.

Thoughts about picking players who have a bye week in week one? At the very least, you know they won't get knocked out.

ANY HELP IS APPRCIATED

My league has been doing this for about 5 years now and there are 2 general strategies I've seen:

Spread out your players among a bunch of different teams

Get most of your players from one or two teams

The spread method seems smartest and is certainly the safest, but the two team concentration is riskier and as in most things to do with FF, risk can put you over the top. If you want to get in the money, ie 2nd, 3rd, then do the spread out method. But if you want to either be 1st or last, grab almost all your guys from 2 teams.

My league is in its 4th year of doing this type of contest.

Every team that has won our contest had at least 2-3 players from the Super Bowl winner. Most of the time it was the QB, K, or DT.

Last year I took Big Ben as the last QB and J.Reed as the 2nd to last kicker. I got extremely lucky and won it all.

Super Bowl Winning Team = $$ in our league.
