Giants: Jacobs > Barber

Jaguars: Jones-Drew > Taylor

Broncos: Mike > Tatum

Falcons: Norwood > Dunn

Bears: Benson > Jones

Of course, all those situations are cases where the higher-ranked guy has fewer touches by a large margin. (Jones-Drew is the closest, down 56 touches.) Also, GL backs, like Barber III and Jacobs get a bump, obviously.

Then there's McAllister blowing away Bush and Dillon edging Maroney. Burner Turner is about even with LT2 and both Seattle RBs are towards the bottom.

Anyways, just thought this might be interesting.

This is definitely an interesting list although I don't think you can draw the direct conclusions that you are in many cases.

I didn't realize that Edge had 200+ touches already.

28. 94. Jones-Drew, Maurice JAC RB 120.30

29. 95. Henry, Travis TEN RB 118.70

30. 96. Lewis, Jamal BAL RB 118.10

Some interesting notes.

The 4 top rookies backs all bunched together 24 thru 28. I predicted Addia would end up best rookie this year because of best situation drafted into and so far so true though it is close. Drew has been a surprise and is the top touch bonus back up.

Westbrook missed a game or he would be a solid 3! There is still the big 3 but Westbrook has replaced the Madden Jinxed Alexander.

James still has bye this week so he will drop to bottom of top 10 most likely. Tons of touches, limited results.

If Tiki just had some TD;S he would be where he has always been!

Bottom line the super subs are just hard to play in a touch bonus league because there touches are limited though this is a start 2 rb's 14 team league with a option of a 3rd so most on your SUPER SUB list make a good flex option most weeks or bye replacement starter at best. Depending what WR you have and there match ups.

So far, I haven't made any conclusions. I've only stated what the data says. But, I do think this data reflects well on Jones-Drew and Norwood, two guys who look to gain a larger role next year. They have decent dynasty value, but may be slightly undervalued and players a team looking towards next year could target.

Agreed, I was referring to your comparisons section. My only point is that I would expect the points per touch to decline for backs such as Norwood and Jones-Drew if they were given a larger workload during more traditional running situations. Conversely, Jacobs and Marion Barber would likely decline if they were given more carries in addition to what they are already getting(since they are currently getting many opportunities at the goal line).Good list none the less.

My initial reaction too was that this data really does not mean much if anything. It will see what others post though and reserve judgement about the data.

I agree. But, their solid production with what they've been given could lead to more opportunity. I guess one should look at historical points-per-touch data, though, to determine if it means anything. Does a high P/T in year N lead to more touches in year N+1?

I think it's interesting to look at but terrible to draw conclusions from. Six of the top eight on the list are backups... so I think that says more about this stat than the stat really says about the players...

Edge is averaging 200 carries per week, and will likely end the season with over 3000 carries, or 1150 yards. :D
