Fantasy Winners and Losers (1 Viewer)

I thought it would be fun to start a thread of winners and losers of NFL free agency. Did you make that big trade assuming something different? Who's worth more now? Who's worth less?

Winners: Owners of

Larry Fitzgerald - Kolb increases his value

Percy Harvin - McNabb increases his value and Rice out of town makes him the sure thing #1 in MN, even if Braylon or Malcom land there. Has top 10 upside this year in PPR.

Reggie Bush - increased RB role, 3rd down RB, + Slot Play, + "Slut Play". ;)

Kenny Britt - Timmy throwing him the ball...consistent QB play increases value

Jared Cook - Timmy throwing him the ball...consistent QB play increases value

Lance Moore - Bush out and stays with slot role in fast twitch NO offense

Losers Owners of:

Sidney Rice - Who's the SEA QB? Yes, that rapport with TJack was great....please keep it going. Yuck!

BMW - Again, who's the SEA QB?

Stewart and DeAngelo - both will share more carries and both have a rookie under center

Goodson - went from a likely 40% share of work load to 10% share?

Great idea for a thread.

Get rid of both Britt and Cook. Hass is no better than Kerry Collins at this point of his career and probably worse. Britt is about to get suspended and Damian Williams is the guy to watch IMO

Moreno in a winner. Most have written him to because of Dwill rumors and he is still the guy. This could change

Holmes. He could have gone to Washington to die. Instead he is back with the Jets. He was 6th highest scoring WR in my home league last year in 2nd half of season.

McNabb. Loser. he gets replaced by week 9 of season and they lose Rice also.

Look for Edwards to end up in Minnesota.

McNabb is a winner. He went from a poisonous situation where he'd have no chance in hell to start, to a place where he is getting a very good shot at it. any points > 0.

I want to see what happens to the draft positions of Stewart and Deangelo Williams. Right now Deangelo is already a good pickup in the 5th round (ADP is #49). If he and Stewart put up 2009 numbers again, they are both solid #2 RBs with potential for top 5 numbers if the other guy gets injured. For all the crying the knuckleheads are doing in this forum about Deangelo staying with the Panthers, they may still represent good value at draft time.

I'd think the Reggie Bush trade to Miami (if that comes to fruition) would be a bump to Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas. Reggie saw the writing on the wall way back on draft weekend. People thinking Ingram won't be used early and often are going to miss the boat.

Winner: James Jones, Rich Cimini just reported that he is very close to signing with the Vikings. If that happens he grabs a huge boost in value.

I'd add Andre Roberts and Eric Decker. They both just moved into starting spots, I believe. I also like Lynch a lot, but that's only partially due to the Gallery signing. They also got a new OC, new OL coach (Cable), drafted two guys, and Okung should be healthy.

Official now per Rotoworld

As much as I hate the way Mike Brown runs the Bengals, the signing of Gradkowski is a good move and kinda overshadowed by all the other headlines.

While not a long term answer, he would appear to be a great bridge guy and offers a chance for the skill guys around him to be somewhat productive this year. Rather than a complete points wasteland.

Dalton can learn how an NFL QB prepares for a game, Green gets a qb that can deliver the ball and not freak out in the pocket. The running game wont see 8 in a box every play.

When the dust settles this will be one of the smarter signings we see as fantasy players. Thoughts?

Not so sure James Jones in Minnesota boosts his value all that much. Being option 2b in the Packers' offense is probably better than being #2 in Minnesota with McNabb. McNabb isn't going to make you a star like Rodgers can.

Concur.James Jones moving from Green Bay to Minnesota puts him in the LOSER column for fantasy purposes.

I'd add Daniel Thomas to the list of winners. Had DWill or Bradshaw gone there, it would've been the other way around. Probably the best RB they could've brought in to compliment DT without really eating into his carries.

Ingram as well. Less mouths to feed with only so many touches to pass around. Pierre I keep the same. Instead of he and Reggie splitting the backup/3rd down work, it's PT and Ivory. I see no measurable gain without an injury to Ingram in which PT will have great stats...

Huh? How's that? Can a man drop a pass that never gets to him? LOL..J/K. But in all seriousness, I don't see any WR going to Minny that makes them any better than what they were. Even if Jones or Floyd go there, they are still going to be just like last year: Inconsistent plays that can put up good points on SOME weeks because they will snag the occasional long bomb, etc. But week in, week out, McNabb isn't going to turn anyone into a catch machine.the real winners in that one are probably ADP and to a lesser degree, Harvin.

Eddie Royal is garbage?

I think Calvin Johnson is a Winner as well as Pettigrew and Burleson with the return of Stafford from injury and the improvements they've made on defense.

If Bernard Berrian doesn't get cut he could have a mini resurgence with McNabb at the helm. Lets not forget the rapport McNabb had with guys like Desean Jackson and Anthony Armstrong.

If James Jones goes to MIN, make Jordy Nelson a winner.......as he will be the WR2 in a high octance Packer offense, even with Finley returning from injury.

Don't sleep on Cobb. He may be the heir apparent to Driver. Jordy is a good player, but not special in any way. Except at winning super bowls. He's one for one in that regard.

Not saying that, but his career 10.4 ypc says he might be better suited as a WR3. So I imagine Decker will get his shot now that Gaffney is gone. If he falters maybe Royal capitalizes.

Moreno is a winner for sure
too early to tell. The worst case scenario didn't materialize but he's not out of the woods yet.
Unless Bradshaw goes there he's pretty much out of the woods. McGahee/Snelling would be depth, not starters.
He still has to not suck which might be a problem. McGahee/Snelling could outperform him even if they were originally just signed for depth.
True, but the point is he just has to suck less then other more sucky guys.McGahee is no longer a viable starting RB, he would play a similar role to what he has the last couple seasons, around 100 carries at most.Snelling is what he is, a journeyman depth type RB who no team would ever want to start.

Not for nothing fellas but Lammey was at the first day of camp today and tweeted Moreno showed up really skinny. Lammey said he looked "fragile" skinny. Don't know if he's exaggerating but he's usually dead on with this stuff. He's there all the time. Just a wierd thing to hear and worth monitoring. Said Jere. Johnson looked great. It's certainly an unsettled situation.

I'm not sure he's capable of this. They are all career 4.0-4.1 ypc guys. I don't see any justification for giving Moreno enough touches to warrant him being a startable FF RB, especially considering they won't have much of a passing threat.I don't see why McGahee and Snelling are not viable starters and Moreno is. I'm not saying they are, but I sure don't think Moreno is if they aren't. I'd rather draft McGahee wherever he is going than Moreno at RB20.

i don't even like Moreno but that is a ridiculous statement by Lammey.Moreno was doing cross fit workouts all offseason. He went from doing 14 pull-ups to over 45. While he may be lighter he is far stronger then he was at any time in the past.

He's definitely not more fragile just because he's lighter.

If this is fragile then i'm blind

The game is one and lost at the line of scrimmage. This guy speaks the troof.

Or a TE. Royal is a fine player and has a role, but it will only be a role.

Cam Newton is looking like a big winner in the aftermath of FA signings. Williams/Stewart running the ball is tremendous; Goodson could have a decent role on third down. SSmith back along with tall, speedy LaFell could help him ease into his role as starting NFL QB. Throw in Greg Olsen along with his own physical freak-ness and suddenly Cam is shining brightly as a QB2 in 2011.

ETA: Wait, I forget Steve Smith's status.

Where was this? I missed it. As far as WW RBs go I'd be hard-pressed to like someone more than I do Jeremiah Johnson. Think he's a talented guy who caught a bad break with the shoulder prior to the draft.
Lammey's tweet from first day of camp today, raved about him. But remember it is the 1st day so don't get all wadded up.You probably should follow Lammey on twitter if you want to keep tabs on Johnson. I doubt if anyone else is even writing about the guy.The only reason he is on my roster is I got to the 35th rd and needed a name. Then I thought about your mancrush and picked him. We might be the only 2 people in America who have him on a roster. And if you dont have him that leaves just me. LOL
