Thought I was really on to something having just discovered fantasypros.com.....until this morning when I saw that Gio's highest ranking in standard format is 10 and his highest ranking in ppr is 18......WTF?

On that note, can someone tell me why it is that on most sites, the "rankings" don't align with the "projections" at all?

Well I know on ESPN, the guys that do the rankings have nothing at all do with the projections (Matthew Berry has said this multiple times). The projecions on ESPN are always way out of whack.

You get both a consensus average & a top/bottom range that even includes Dodds, Bloom & MT from this site.

I just like it as a base to start from, keeps me from going too far off the radar some weeks.

I like Fantasy Pros and have been using it the last few years. For this season, I've been coming here 1st and then if I can't decide, I'll see what Fantasy Pros has. Figure if all the "experts" feel the same way about a guy as I do, it helps validate my decision.

I agree with all of the above...just sayin' it makes zero sense that Gio is ranked higher in standard format than PPR. IMO

Anita Marks has him listed at #7 in ppr. Several others have him in the top 12. Not sure what you're looking at. Of course the numbers are constantly changing as more and more experts weigh in and make changes to their rankings. Best to check it on Sunday morning right before you need to make the final decisions.

Are the IDP rankings on Fantasy Pros completely worthless? Over the aggregate it just seems like stock "name" player lists without any regard to matchup, trends, and changing depth charts.

Ahhh, I see now that the numbers are different not only based on scoring format but also between "rb" and "flex". My bad.

There are a ton more "pros" every year. I to to check the 3 FBG rankings first, and generally lean Dodds due to his record the past several years. If I have a really tough decision I will sort which FantasyPros experts are the best at the particular position.

A few things I have noticed,

-seems like Dodds is really statistical based

-some of the top experts come out with their stuff later, which makes me wonder if they are influenced by others rankings

It has turned me onto some other rankings sites, so that is cool as well.

There are a handful of experts who seem to dominate the top 10 every year. Mike Clay has a very consistent record every year. I would put him up with Dodds in terms of experts I would lean on the most. The Sablich Brothers are another who seem to be at or near the top every year. I would personally stick with those top tier experts in terms of who I would follow for the 10 percent of decisions that seem like a coin flip.
