Yeah, that "Danny Boy" was fresh. Don't think I've ever heard that in a movie beforeGood music tonight
Seriously though, only quibble with the episode.

Seemed to me that he was there to do so.Why did Mike need to kill the undertaker? Did he think he was coming to kill him?
i think mike takes a lot of pride in his work...his only option to finish the job was to kill the undertaker and blame it on the Gerharts ...that leaves no other option for the head of Kansas citySeemed to me that he was there to do so.Why did Mike need to kill the undertaker? The face the toilet and the Knudsen name are two more...I noticed a few of these
Spienwall:
"Did you do this? No, you did it!!" is perhaps the series' most overtly Coen-y episode by far, with nods at various points to "The Big Lebowski" (Hank offers to cut off his toe, Mike Miligan says "Sometimes, there's a man," and we hear a version of "I Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)" twice), "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" ("O Death" plays), "Miller's Crossing" (Bear not only takes Simone out to the barren woods to kill her, but we hear "Danny Boy" as he prepares to do it), and even "Fargo" itself (Hank's wife died in Brainerd)

plus the job got personal when one of his trio was killedYeah Mike was told the undertaker was coming and that he was "done". I doubt the undertaker was there to kill him, otherwise he wouldn't have been warned...guess he didn't wanna get roughed up or replaced.
Yeah, really. How did he even know who Mike Milligan was?Really? How did Ed know how to get hold of Mike Milligan?
The first time?Just watched it again. So good.
Missed the Albert Camus reference the first time around.
Also Christine. When I saw the directors name in the credits--Keith Gordon--I recognized but could not place it. I looked him up. He's the little scrawny guy who played Rodney Dangerfield's son in "Back To School".

That was all I was thinking of as well, which is why I sort of thought it would go a different direction as the scenes were so strikingly similar to me.That one scene had a very "Silvio driving Adrianna to her demise" feel to it
Yeah, really. How did he even know who Mike Milligan was?Really? How did Ed know how to get hold of Mike Milligan?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Was wondering this too. I'm sure I forgot something though.Yeah, really. How did he even know who Mike Milligan was?Really? How did Ed know how to get hold of Mike Milligan?
I dunno... maybe Peggy had already used her alien strength to put Dodd in the trunk of a car and took off only to run into Ed on her way out of dodge?I also didn't get how Ed was free from custody.
In Ep 6 after Lou and Ed emerge from the woods and Hank pulls up in the squad car Ed takes off running down the road. I think Lou said something like we know where he's going. I assumed they were going to drive down the road and apprehend Ed or go to his house and pick him up. But in Ep 7 Ed is free and on the run/calling Mike. What did I miss here?
I dont think you missed anything. You made an assumption that didnt happen.I also didn't get how Ed was free from custody.

I'm all earsReally? How did Ed know how to get hold of Mike Milligan?
Yeah, they might explain it all next episode. For shows like this, its usually best to let all of the episodes play out.
My first thought was the Indian (who was following Ed at the end of the previous episode), was forcing Ed to do it, in an attempt to lure Milligan. Though after Ed made the phone call, they never showed him with the Indian. Or maybe the cops, now working with the Gerhardts, caught up with Ed and are in on it.Was wondering this too. I'm sure I forgot something though.Yeah, really. How did he even know who Mike Milligan was?Really? How did Ed know how to get hold of Mike Milligan?
woah that actually sounds pretty legitMy first thought was the Indian (who was following Ed at the end of the previous episode), was forcing Ed to do it, in an attempt to lure Milligan. No way! We need dozens of questions, speculation up the wazoo, and countless guesses! For shows like this, its usually best to let all of the episodes play out.
DadI figured we're going to get either a full filler episode or at least an extended flashback scene explaining how Ed got away and has Dodd.
You'll notice earlier in the episode somebody kept calling the family about Dodd too and Bear wouldn't take the call. Figure that may have been the Butcher of Luverne too.
now shes bald and traitorousdammit, Simone. why you have to be so hot & traitorous?
i don't like this phraseNo way! We need dozens of questions, speculation up the wazoo, and countless guesses! For shows like this, its usually best to let all of the episodes play out.
This makes sense. No need to show the indian until next episode. My first thought was the Indian (who was following Ed at the end of the previous episode), was forcing Ed to do it, in an attempt to lure Milligan.
