You've been given the chance to restart your life from the beginning with one of two possible outcomes once you become an adult. You can either be fat, or be gay. You must pick one.

Rules

- The definition of fat is 400+ pounds. Seriously obese. Many activities you take for granted today will become difficult or impossible. Your dating and sex pool will be limited to other fat people.

- The definition of gay is that your attraction tendencies will be of the same sex and you will have homosexual relationships including sex. You will also be out of the closet and everyone you know will react accordingly.

Disclaimer: This pole is not meant as a slur or slander against homosexuals or fat people. It is not meant as a means to compare or equate being fat with being gay. It's just good fun on a Friday.

If I'm gay I'm to assume I'm attracted to other men. Per the sentiment of the poll it sounds like I'd also be an attractive gay man so my pickings of what I'm attracted to shouldn't be limited.

Gay seems like the obvious choice then.

Right, I think the fat option might come into play with people who know or are related to people who would be very against them being gay. I expect the gay option to win, but am still curious.

 
I would never want to be associated with such an unhealthy, immoral, degenerate, and disgusting lifestyle.

I'm choosing gay.

 
Both would represent a significant change in personality IMO. I can't imagine currently letting myself get to be fat. I also can't imagine myself currently being attracted to men.

The challange isn't which option would your current self be ok with, but almost which option is more acceptable to those around you. Because in either case, your hypothetical self would likely be fine with both.

 
I never posted my option.

I chose gay. I could never be happy being fat. I'd also die young if I chose that option.

 
How is this a close question? If I am gay, then I like to take a #### in the mouth. I wouldn't object to it at all. I wouldn't know that my former self liked women, so it isn't like I would be longing for a former life. Under that scenario, why would I choose morbidly obese over that?

 
Most people's problem with selecting teh 'gay' option here is that they are not sexually interested in the same sex currently.

The question presupposes that you have a different sexual preference. It is really only designed to evaluate whether you would prefer to deal with the social stigma (and physical limitations) of being fat vs. the social stigma (as it currently exists) of being gay.

Gay should be the runaway choice here.

I would totally be a gay dude before I'd be a fat dude. Gays dudes can be sleep around like its no one's business and its just par for the course. Their partners don't think they're childish if they want to play video games. Etc, etc, its a long list. In summation, dating/sex without the issues that women have in those arenas sounds like a better time than being 400 lbs.

 
id be gay, live in a nice house in a trendy neighborhood with my studly spinning instructor, and we'd have a lot of ferns in the house. and we would drink chardonnay like is was our job..

 
I will choose the long, healthy, fabulous life of a homosexual versus the nasty, poor, brutish, and short life of a fat guy.

This makes it sound more like bisexual, so count me in for this option instead of so fat you cant walk 10 yards without needing to sit down and catch your breath.

At my most out of shape days of close to 250 lbs (im 6'3), I felt almost sloppily fat. I couldnt even imagine 400+ lbs - or how people could even get/let themselves get to that point but thats a whole other question in itself. Im pretty sure 400+ lb closest friend is their fridge, they usually only leave to house to go to the grocery, and really do nothing in their lives besides being a sloth on a couch. Im not even sure what they would do for work. Think about it - how many people do you see in public, working at their various jobs, who are that fat? Im actually starting to think people that fat are unemployed and just live off disability money, etc.
