Post a few talented but fatally flawed players and call out what negative is going to be painful in '07...

1) RB Larry Johnson: his lack of OL

2) QB Matt Hasselback: no true #1 WR or TE

3) WR Ronald Curry: not cut out for a #1 role

4) WR Matt Jones: shakey hands and shakier QB

5) TE Ben Troupe: wont see enough passes

1) RB Clinton Portis: Betts.

I'd disagree on Curry. Since seeing him play in 04 I've thought he has some serious skills. Now he gets a chance to shine. He's my dark horse this year. :lmao:

I think he will become the #1 by how well he plays. He's a feak of nature and extremely talented. He has to stay healthy and that's not a given with him. But you have to be encouraged by his comeback from injuries and his ability to overcome the Raiders last year and produce decent numbers in the face of adversity. Guys like that become solutions to other's problems.

KC has a long tradition of producing effective rushing attacks and they will continue that this year as well.2) QB Matt Hasselback: no true #1 WR or TEHe has a great collection of WR's and as long as he has Engram he has someone he trusts. Hackett and Branch will combine with Engram to be a formidable group. However, I liked them much better with DJax. Keep in mind he's used to playing well without DJax.3) WR Ronald Curry: not cut out for a #1 roleNot sure why you say that. He has freakish skills but he also gets injured too frequently for my taste. But this is a guy I'm taking a chance with this year. He could easily be the #1 for the Raiders.4) WR Matt Jones: shakey hands and shakier QBAgree with you. He can make the spectacular play but the routine play seems non existent.5) TE Ben Troupe: wont see enough passesAgree. Scaife will steal some looks but I'm not sure Tenn will have a formidable pass attack. While VY is a heck of a talent I'm concerned about his passing effectiveness. Unfortunately, Tenn isn't doing anything to help him either. Covering 2 TE's should be easy for most teams.

maybe no true #1, but still a decent group. i don't see djax being missed all that much. with his health issues, and bad hands, i don't think he was the sole reason for the success of the passing game. also, a 50 year old pollard will still be better than stevens was.

1) Javon Walker - Cutler ignores him in passing game (see dramatic drop in targets after Plummer got benched)

2) Brandon Jacobs - Where to start? Droughns is proven feature RB hand selected by NYG to replace Barber. Now Finn is out, Jacobs should go to FB, OL stinks, and Jacobs hasn't even been able to handle 100 carries in season and stay healthy. There are more, but you get the point.

When Moss leaves town and Jerry Porter barely cares about the game, I see Curry as a #1 in OAK; i obviously dont buy that he is suited for dealing with the coverage, but......time will tell.

Whoever said Curry was the number one in Oakland?
Keep in mind that you also have 2 other important changes in OAK:1. New coach.2. New QB.That alone can make him the #1. Porter is a great WR but I don't think anyone in Oak views him as a Moss type must be our guy WR. Curry could easily be the man. And if it comes down to talent then Curry will be the man. But if Porter on the filed helps Curry more than hurts him IMO. And if you looks at Curry's number after he was the #1 last year I think he's shown he can handle the load and that was with a bad QB.

Here are some numbers on Porter: 2002: 51 catches, 688 yards, 9 TD's...28th in FBG scoring.

2004: 64 catches, 998 yards, 9 TD's...20th in FBG scoring.

2005: 76 catches, 942 yards, 5 TD's...26th in FBG scoring.

Before last seasons disaster, Porter was in the top 30 in FBG scoring in 3 of the previous 4 seasons. I hardly would call that worthless.
