I went to the Foreigner 4 tour (the peak of their popularity) and their next tour. I hate that they tour with like one original member, thats not Foreigner.

"Long Long Way From Home" is my favorite. From the list my favorite is probably "Head Games". A couple not on the list that I like alot are "Starrider" and "Girl on the Moon".

"Starrider"? Wow I thought I was showing my age talking about going to the 4 tour..... ;)

Really? Don't you think maybe you missed like their biggest, most memorable song ever maybe?

And how can 60 people choose a song from the first set when only four people said that they selected a song from the first set.btw, "Hot Blooded"

 "Starrider" is my favorite, followed closely by "Long, Long Way From Home" and Headknocker". GB Ian McDonald.Speed increasing, all control

is in the hands of those who know

Will they help us grow

to one day be Starriders?

That line count means that 20 (now 29) people have voted (currently) but when a poll has checkboxes rather than radio buttons in it, people can vote for multiple options within the same poll. So the count for each selection shows how many times it was selected among all votes while the total number of votes shows how many different people have voted.

Because you don't do polls well. Why should I just vote for one when I can vote for several?

My wife jokes with me that I slept with Lou Gramm.

He attended our church for a short period of time. He had gone through a period of being heavily medicated following his brain tumor recovery and regularly fell asleep in church.

One time he was sitting next to me and my wife looked over and saw that he and I had both nodded off.

ETA: my favorite is Midnight Blue.

:goodposting: Thats a pretty cool story.

Lou Gramm did Midnight Blue, not Foreigner.

Voted for Headknocker. Who are the 10 who voted for I want to know what love is?

Angel of Death

Oh wait...I thought it said, "Favorite Slayer song." Foreigner sucks! Why did I even open this thread?

I'm kind of afraid to mention it now. Is there some sort of unwritten rule going on here?
Oh wait, I was thinking of Survivor.Nevermind.

Eye of the tiger

it's the thrill of the fight

rising up to the challenge of our rivals

and the last sole survivor

da da da da da duh

da da da da duh da da da DAAAAAA

...of the tiger.

Seriously, all those late 70s early 80s "power ballad" kinds of bands just blur together. Journey, Foreigner, Survivor, etc. It's like trying to identify the best part of a slab of Spam.

Null Vote. "Fool For You Anyway" is probably the best answer here; but just about anything from the debut album is worthy of consideration - including the aforementioned "Starrider"

Funny, at my local club (Canyon Club in Agoura Hills) they had Foreigner and Lou Gramm play within 3 weeks of each other..

"Urgent" and "Long Long way from Home" for me. I was a sophomore in high school when Foreigner hit - killer first album..

Oh come on Foreigner had some good stuff. I'll go Dirty White Boy for my vote.
When I was 10 years old I liked Jukebox Hero. That's all I got.I saw Foreigner headline for Scorpions and Iron Maiden at Day on the Green in 1983. You can see why that would be anti-climactic.

Well yeah that sounds like a poor choice of concert partners. But Foreigner did some good work. Head Games probably being the last of their rock output. After that it got very synth as I recall. Didn't have the hard driving rock sound any more.

If you want to feel old, ask an 18 year old if they've ever heard of Foreigner.

Well I happen to know some 18 year olds that would certainly know. I am sure that isn't neccesarily a sign of majority knowledge but don't kid yourself, some of the young folks enjoy the old stuff. Including Foreigner.

I voted "Jukebox Hero", but I also have a soft spot for "I Want to Know What Love Is" (ya, I know...).

Lou Gramm has one of the most underrated voices in rock history - rich and soulful, particularly for a white guy. He is one of the few things that I am proud of from my hometown of Rochester, NY.

Today's 18 year olds are mostly dip####s, and that includes the 18 year olds of 2008. Foreigner had a few good songs that rightly continue to get playtime on classic rock stations.

Lots of 18 year olds are listening to stuff today that is far superior to the crap that was 70s/80s FM radio. Foreigner was contrived crap.

I don't think Foreigner is in the upper-tier of the 70s and 80s. Like I said, they're in the "a few good songs" category for me. That said, I'll take 70s/80s FM radio over 2014 FM radio all day and consider it the most lopsided decision ever.

I have heard the music 18 year olds are listening to and it mostly not all that.

I'd really like to know who out of the current crop will be in the R&R HOF 20 years from now. The first "R" being Rock.
