Favorite NA Beers (1 Viewer)

Lots of folks doing some dry January thing. Others just looking to cut down on their alcohol consumption (if anyone wants to feel depressed about their consumption habits, Huberman Lab has an eye opening podcast about alcohol effects - I can post a link if anyone is curious).

Anyway, been drinking several different NA beers and was wondering who has found ones they think are good. The Athletic ones are good, IMO - and honestly even though I am hardly a light beer drinker, their Lite is probably my favorite right now. Having a Deschutes NA fresh squeezed right now, and all this is doing is making me crave the real thing.

Maybe thats why the Lite is my favorite. It's satisfying some urge, but not making me wish I had a Miller Lite in my hand or something.

Lagunita na ipa is decent.

Partake has some pretty good options

Best day ipa

Aslin makes a sour that I see from time to time. Sours seem like a good option because I don’t get quite the hankering for real beer and think about the difference.

Generally prefer a few other non-beer options for non alcoholic drinks.

I like Heineken 0 - it reminds me of Rolling Rock, which I preferred over bud/miller when I was younger.

Guinness 0 is surprisingly good too.

Can you post that podcast?

Also, for me, my go to NA beer is just water. I like beer plenty, but I actually prefer the alcohol taste to it (same goes for NA wine) so if I'm going to drink NA I may as well avoid the calories with like a water or a crystal light. Or, if I'm going to have calories, then I prefer the taste of a sports drink or the occasional Sprite/Starry.

Guinness 0 is surprisingly good too.
These are the two I've been drinking.

I've never been a huge fan of Guinness. I'm definitely more of a hop forward kinda guy. That said, the Guinness 0 to me, is about the same as regular Guinness. I think with Stouts, in general, it's easier to "cover things up."

The heineken NA is nice and crisp. Very drinkable. I just wish the NA's weren't so expensive. They are just as much, if not more than real beer.

I've been drinking Kona Big Wave a lot lately. Feel like it has just the right amount of flavor without getting too intense.

ETA: OK, just realized NA meant non-alcoholic and not North American. All the other posts make a lot more sense now so, nevermind, carry on.

I don’t love Heineken but I do think that the Heineken 0.0 is probably the best replica of the real beer that I have had

It almost passes for a real beer.

I'm not a real big "light" beer kinda guy, but I do love a crisp, ice cold lager,or pilsner..... especially on a hot summer day.

I like the hop character of Big Wave. Very drinkable.

Take this elsewhere you two toads

Tried some NA wine but it’s tough, doesn’t quite do it. I’ve had some good NA tequila that makes a solid margarita. I’ll have to use some of these suggestions to try some beers.

When doing some NA cocktails, we will use a can of THC/CBD sparkling water in place of whatever the sparkling element of the drink is. We did mimosa today with fresh squeezed orange/grapefruit juce and some WYNK tangerine 2.5% THC/CBD sparkling soda in place of proseco. No alcohol but get the physical act of it with a small slight buzz. Not a bad start to Sunday morning.

I had a couple of these in Portland and agree 100%.
