favre and minnesota running up the scorez! (1 Viewer)

Wouldn't you want the team that is winning to throw if you are a Cowboys fan?-Stop the clock on an incompletion-Possible sack -Possible forced fumble -Possible Interception
Not going to call it classless...just kind of dumb of them to even have Favre in the game at that point.But...do you think the Cowboys with under 2 minutes and down 3 scores already are thinking...hey...I hope they throw here to stop the clock and make the game last longer since we really have a legit shot at coming back?

Makes me wonder if Favre actually will stay retired if the Vikings win it all and he just wants to pad his stats.

meh...Ive said before and will keep saying, I really don't think he cares all that much about stats at this point.I still think the same thing.

It's real cute and all for FAvRay to still be in the game slinging it at the end to get that final TD, but I wonder how Childress & Co would have felt had he been sacked and injured on one of those drop backs. The final TD meant nothing. I'm not a fan of either team and couldn't care less one way or the other about the in-your-face aspect of that TD, but all they did was foolishly risk him for next week.

Favre's had some bad playoff games in his career. IMO, this was an attempt to make his overall career playoff numbers look a little better.

I agree with this, and it just seemed like bad form all around. Felt very strange watching this.

Just want it noted that not all Dallas fans feel this way.

Dallas didn't throw in the white towel on the prior series. Dallas went for it on 4th and 2 or 3 and missed on a pass to Miles Austin. Dallas could have punted if they were so worried about getting scored on but they chose not to.

I don't think all teams would have thrown the ball on 4th and 3 with under 2 minutes to play up 27-3 but it is what it is. 27-3, 34-3 makes no difference to me. I saw all I need to see prior to that pass, better team won today.

I know what you're saying Couch and I think we have the same mentality on this but it's not the way of the NFL anymore. Whether it's good or bad, that's up for debate but you see more and more of this kind of play in today's game. Did they really risk him? We're talking about a guy who's started in every game since when, 94 or 92 or whatever it is......I'm just saying. There's risk in anything, the guy wasn't going to get hurt on that 1 play.

As a Falcon fan who cheered him for years, only thing I didn't like about that whole play was Brooking crying afterwards. If Brooking would have had a shot at Favre on that play, he certainly takes it and drives him down but cries about the fact the Vikings didn't stop trying? If you stopped trying Brooking then get off the field, if you were still trying then make a play and close your mouth

Except for the fact that it was 4th down this is sound logic.

When the game was far out of reach with five minutes and less to go the Cowboys went for it on fourth down in their own territory two times in a row. That's pretty much inviting the Vikings to run the score up. I don't think in this case it was bad form.

:blackdot: I think that Favre is probably the QB that is the most concerned with his stats.I would love to see a breakdown of the percentage of TD passes of 2 yards are under compared with the total number of TD passes. Favre would definitely lead that category. The guy has made a career of making an audible at the the 1 yard line so that he can get another TD pass.

The Vikings were a great Red Zone team this year after being pretty bad in RZ last year. Hard not to give Favre credit: if that means he audibles into pass plays on the two, so be it. Manning does it plenty too. It forces the defense to play honest so that when you do run you have a better chance that way also. I don't think it has anything to do with running up stats: Fare is all about winning.
