Favre Question (1 Viewer)

I for one still like Favre and I know that is a minority opinion around here, but while discussing tonight game with a coworker who is from Minnesota I think it has reached a new low; Do you think Favre would tell the Minnesota coaching staff all he knows about the packers offense? I know this has been asked before but do you think that Favre could give the Vikings a huge advantage for tonights game?

Of course he will. He's been waiting for this day for a long time. My question is this, will he piss his pants like he's done in every big game since 4th and 26.

Sure he will.

But the offense has had several tweaks since then...and Rodgers runs it differently than he does.

LIkely won't be any more of a help than watching tape over and over and over as the Vikings probably have anyway.

No more of an advantage than the Packers have knowing Favre's tendencies and how he plays.

I really don't see how Favre's knowledge of the Packers would help the Vikings in any significant way. Favre doesn't know which plays the Packers are going to run. Definitely would not be a HUGE advantage, if it is any advantage at all.

Are there rules that say he can't? Isn't that true of any player who switches team. It has been two years now, so tough crap. If they haven't changed their playbook, that is their fault.

Huh? It happens all the time in every sport. :goodposting:

Its very common for teams to sign a player who was just released by an upcoming opponent in order to pick his brain about his former team. Earlier this season the Redskins signed Andre Woodson after the Giants cut him at the end of training camp, had him run the scout team while preparing for Week 1, and then released him after the game. At least in this case its not a "sham" signing.

Yes, yes, and definitely yes.Happens from time to time. I think the Jets 3rd string QB O'Connell supposedly spilled his guts on the NE playbook. Now are they relating anything the defensive coaches don't already know? Not sure. There's nothing low at all about that. Now, Favre putting on the hated Vike purple & gold just to put a dagger in the hearts of the Packer management? That's low.

Isn't the whole reason Favre was such a great fit for the Vikings was because they run the same offense? If so, not sure what advantage Favre could add.

 Both teams run basically the same offense.. If anything I'd say the Packers have the advantage as they know his tendencies from playing with him for so many years.

Just reported the Vikings held Farve in a windowless room this morning with only a chair and a bright light in his face. With beads of sweat rolling, Farve tried to hold out as long as he could, but eventually MIN suits got the Green Bay playbook out of him. He said they threatened to burn his Wrangler jeans collection.

Hopefully he's just as successful passing along information to his teammates as he was with Matt Millen last year.

(Ok, slightly better team this time around)
