I know I'm going to get flamed for suggesting this, but I think the Vikes need to take a page out of the Jets playbook and run some wildcat with TJax. Give the elbow some rest and open up some lanes for Peterson with the threat of Jackson (or Harvin for that matter) taking the snap.Or what if they just snapped it to Peterson with Harvin running the Jet motion. Teams would have to respect Harvin's speed to the corner and this would help Peterson too.I just think they need to get creative to give Favre as many play off as possible.If Favr's arm doesn't fall off, I could see the Vikes go on a major run to finish the season. Their Defense is terrific and all they need is 10-15 plays from their QB to be successful.Thoughts?

Agreed. I'm hoping the Vike's opening trick play (Moss throwing to Favre) is indicative of more creativity coming in the future...

Rice "not close to returning" ? Out for the year

According to Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities, Sidney Rice (hip, PUP) is "not close to returning."

Pelissero relays the update from coach Brad Childress' Wednesday press conference. Childress said Rice is "stationary Wii-habbing," and in other words can't do much. Despite shedding his crutches, it's looking more and more like the Vikings would be lucky to get Rice back at all this season.
