Preds knows.When you call out FBG the way he did, you open yourself up to many things. There's no reason that FBGs should have to sit on their hands because of their connection to the site.

BTW Preds, I think you may have taken Shick!'s original statement wrong, but that's just how I see it.

Emmm missed the link but I think now that what is happening to preds is kinda proving his point about the boards at least. It is only through respect for all opinions whether we agree or not that we will be able to have a truly informative site. Personally I am a little offened by what I percieve to be a threat directed towards not only preds but to perhaps all who "call out FBG". Certianly hope I don't find myself in that group nor lumped in with the "goose steppers".

Did cheatsheets.net have a message board?

I came across that site just before it was shut down and I never noticed any message boards, but I could be wrong.

Small rant:

People talk of the cheatsheets.net site as if it was some glorified FF heaven. Like it's cheatsheets NEVER made a mistake. IF cheatsheets.net never had a message board, well than nobody ever had the chance to call out Joe on some of his predictions. Which probably gave people the perception that Joe and his cheatsheets were better than they really were.

Fast forward now, and you have over 9,272 posters who have the ability to call out Joe & Co. on each and every single "mistake" they make in their cheatsheets. So now, perception has swung the other way and Joe's cheatsheets seem worse than they probably are.

Bottom line: Your team, your call. FBGs.com is just there to help. I don't even think that the cheatsheets are the big reason people come here, but more so for all the info and the message boards.

I assume your trashing of the site, calling certain aspects of it "worthless," and some FBGs "sheep" is perfectly ok...?It's one thing to get worked up over something as simple as not liking something, and going as far as you have. Instead of going elsewhere, or giving suggestions on how to improve things (as Shick has asked for), you'd rather throw out blanket statements and trashing a site that thousands enjoy each year.This site, like any other out there, is like anything else in a free market society. If you don't like it, you have the freedom to go elsewhere with your business/ideals.As for your comments in general - you can enjoy the freedom of expressing your opinion, much like the 1st Amendment under American law. However, don't think you can throw something out there, and not expect others, such as myself, to return fire. If you feel Shick's comments were "out of line" then take your business elsewhere, as I said before. You have that freedom as well. However, the tone of your post from the get-go has been completely negative, and it sounded as if you were going to not re-subscribe next year anyways. That's unfortunate. I was talking about staff members defending themselves, and the site, moreso than other posters piling on Preds for his comments.Is that not appropriate?

Preds new full-well that he would have people defending the site, after he calls certain aspects of it "worthless" and some FBGs having a "sheep mentality." As I said earlier, you have your right to an opinion, but everyone else has an equal right to their opinions and the right to call someone out on something.Instead of taking the high road, and simply going elsewhere, Preds has decided to take the issue further by insulting the FBG population in general.And no one is trying to set up Preds as some kind of martyr. If anything, I think he's trying to set himself up as one by even starting this thread...

FBGs control this site. They have their rules. If they feel something is inappropriate, they have the right to delete anything they want. It's their site. Simple as that.

If they removed something of yours, then instead of immediately crying foul, perhaps you should rethink what you wrote and ask yourself why they would remove it. FBGs has always been a very free and open forum to post things. They have never been ones to remove things simply because someone disagrees with them on something or proved them wrong or whatever. I didn't see what you wrote, but it obviously was pretty inappropriate, hence why it was removed.

Case in point, Troy Walters subbing in for Marvin this week. Most on this board trashed his value in place of Marvin, and FBG's had him ranked in the 50's, while a guy like Calico was ranked 26. I'm sure Calico's 22 yards receiving won a lot of games this week, while the 88 yards and a TD put up by Walters was sitting on the bench for many

This "case in point" is absolutely absurd. FBG actually had Walters at #49,and in my opinion would have lost all credibility if they would of had him much higher,regardless of his performance. They already had Reggie Wayne listed at #6 while the Colts were going against a Jets team that was 32nd against the run and 3rd against the pass. No one could have guessed Peyton would go off for 400 yards passing today,and I'm a homer.

If you are a FF vet then you know that the last two years seem to have been crazy where predictions/speculations have been concerned. Any service that has been involved in this endeavor has some egg on their face from time to time.

It would be ridiculous to assume that if FBG expanded their manhours 10X and budget similarly they could be more accurate. I will go further and suggest that random sharks could put together a cheatsheet that proves to be more accurate from time to time. Similarly, FBG "better halves" could make selections superior to those of their shark hubbies and win sometimes. What I would wager against is a solid rationalé from any of those groups for their choices that could rival those of FBGs on a consistent basis. Where speculation on an athelete's production is concerned, the most you can ask for is a thorough evaluation of all the tangible factors that are knowable. In this vein, I am not sure what service out there is more complete.

When I was in fourth grade I used to handicap games and compete against Jimmy the Greek's article from our local paper. I did very well and beat him for a stretch. My dad suggested that I hold off calling him overrated until I came up with the picks myself before seeing his article. It didn't take long to see what he meant.

For the average FBG subscriber's part, I am sure that there are picks that are vetoed using their own reasoning, intuition, or statistics. Nothing here seems to be extraordinary. What is stupifying is a Sunday night post that has a subscriber thumping his chest that he "knew" better once the results are already tallied. Maybe you did and maybe you didn't. I can't check your sheets.

Most vets here aren't looking for a Cleo hotline but informative opinions. I've looked at the cheatsheets more last year than this so I really can't offer up an evaluation about the product this year. It has more to do with my black and white line up than it does the product itself.

You are correct, what I wrote was entirely inappropriate! I voiced an opinion that just so happened to not comply with the opinion of the "staff".

Why I find FBG useful:1. My FFL Draft - after an offseason of inactivity, they provide lots of good info on what's been going on since the super bowl. I also like to hear about rookie prospects since I don't watch NCAA football.2. Updates on the status of players to my mailbox throughout the week - I've grown accustomed to this feature. Saves me lots of time, which I really appreciate when my personal life gets too busy to do it myself.3. Easy to find sorted stats - I like having things like targets all sorted out for me without having to dig for it myself. Another time saver.I think its worth the money.

The FBG cheatsheets are totally worthless IMO just like much of the rest of the FBG premium content. So many of you are so blindsided with your FBG obsession that you can't see how often they've been way wrong (much more than they've been right). Back in the old cheatsheets.net days it was great stuff, but the past 2 years have been nothing but useless information overkill with very little quality. Worse yet, you have to sift through so much trash on both the premium site and these boards that the time expended isn't worth the results.Y'all can blindy keep pitching the holiness of the FBG's and this community, however IMO it's become more a site to visit and do the exact opposite of what's being touted.I'm sure I'll get blasted for daring to disagree with the masses, but so be it. Some of you will see what's happened around here and will agree with me, while the majority will likely rally the troops to protect the revered FBG community. Too bad, this used to be a great place to hang out and get quality insight...

Preds,You're certainly welcome to your opinion. As far as you "getting blasted" that's pretty much expected anytime you come into someone's house and say they're worthless. I'd get the same response going into a Packers message board and saying they were worthless.Sorry if what we're doing isn't working for you.
