I won my league championship last night (this league has the superbowl a week early) with the great outing by Manning and Harrison. This is my second league championship. I think my paid subscription to FBG and the useful information found here in the Shark Pool helped this year.

I am also playing for the championship in a dynasty league next week and for third place in another league.

Mods if this is in the wrong forum please move but I wanted to say thank you.

PS: I thought we had a thread for this type post last year.

Congrats. Glad you felt the service was helpful. I'll pin this thread and edit the title.

Agreed.

I lost in one league by .5 points, and am still alive in another league.

I had by far the best draft in both leagues thanks to FBG's this year. I've made the least amount of waiver moves in both leagues in the history of either league thanks to the solid depth throughout that the DD and other info assisted me in obtaining.

Keep it up guys.

$250 - 16-team bar league (1st year)

Lost last week.. playing for 4th ($400) or 3rd ($600) next week

$50 - 12 team office league

Playing in league superbowl next week

(went undefeated and won it all last year too)

Free - 14 team FBG FFA Varsity League

Playing in league superbowl next week

 GB FBG

Two leagues, two finals coming up this weekend. Thanks for all the info. This site is a serious advantage.

I'm in two leagues this year and will be playing for the title in both next week. This is by far my best year and this is the first year as a subscriber. I think the big plus is the IDP forum and data. Both my leagues are IDP and I had the best defense in both. Big props to Bramel and Norton and the rest of the IDP guys. Thanks FBG!

I'm in the bowl next week thanks in large part to daily dips in the shark pool. Thanks FBGs for all of the content and FBGs members for sharing so much in the pool.

This is our 9th year playing in a head-to-head format.

First six years - never made the playoffs - always in the middle of the pack.

I first subscribed to FBG prior to year seven.

Next week I'll play in my 4th consecutive Superbowl since then, looking for my 3rd title.

This is only the second year I've been in a league, and in the first year I discovered FBG far too late for it to be helpful to me, other than to show me where I'd gone wrong. Given that I brought up the rear in that league, there were plenty of mistakes for me to learn about.

When I was invited to play this year, I signed up for a subscription immediately and started slogging through all the great articles, conducting mock drafts, planning a draft strategy, and making sure I grasped the rationale behind the VBD approach. While it didn't stop me from making mistakes (I took Aaron Brooks and Delhomme in the draft for my QBBC), it gave me useful information that helped me recover from them, and from setbacks like losing Portis to the IR in midseason, yet still manage to put together a roster of strong contributors. The net result is that I'll be facing off in our league's Super Bowl this weekend.

Without the info I've been able to get from FBG and the Shark Pool, I'm sure I wouldn't have made such a big improvement. Now I feel just a little bit guilty though, since I'm too selfish to repay FBG by recommending to the other owners in my league that they sign up. No sense arming the enemy with better weapons, right? :banned:

In my four leagues this year I placed 1st, 1st, 2nd, and 2nd. I've already won the pts. title in the two leagues where I finished 1st. I made it to the Semi-finals in all four leagues this past weekend winning two of them. So, I could potentially end up as the playoffs champion in two leagues and already finished the pts. champion in two leagues. That's a lot of $$$

I honestly don't think you could ask for a much better fantasy season than that! Many thanks to FBG! I honestly couldn't have done it all without you guys! I feel like I owe you something now

5 leagues....5 playoff teams.

I've already broke even, and then some.

I have 1 superbowl playoff this week.

Thanks again to FBG for another great year

:D

There are so many positive things about this site, and the VBD application has always been extremely valuable. The Shark Pool is without peer.

Thank You to the staff and to all members in the Shark Pool for making Fantasy Football such a great thing.

Without a doubt, FBG is the BEST source for fantasy draft information. I am a multi-year subscriber and owe a great deal of my fantasy success to FBG draft information.

I am in four leagues this year, including three shark leagues (two are unlucky's greek leagues) and am playing in three finals this upcoming weekend. In the fourth league, I am in strong contention for the points championship (missed playoffs by record and had I advanced, I would be playing in finals - could have been 4 for 4 finals).

Thanks FBG.

You guys do excellent work and it shows on the site and in my wife and I's teams.

THANK YOU AND MERRY CHRISTMAS

In my league, I know of 4 owners who are FBG's (including myself.) All four made it to the playoffs. One went 12-1 in the regular season and finished 1st in his division. I finished in 2nd in the same division. Another finished 1st in his division (9-4, I believe) and the other was in last place, but came on strong in the later half of the season to make the playoffs. I beat the 12-1 team in the 2nd round of the playoffs and will be in the Super Bowl for the 3rd straight year.

Since being a FBG (since ol' yeller), I can't remember the last time I didn't make the playoffs.

Unlike others, I see no problems telling league mates about FBG's, as I think it has made our league stronger and tougher to compete in, which has been a nice improvement.

Since I got one of the lucky tickets (3 yr subscription) in the FBG magazine this past year, I'll be a FBG for at least the next three years!

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year!

What do all of you attribute this success to? I love FBGs, dont get me wrong but I am a paid member and I finished 3-10 with my team scoring under 100 pts 5 times (average was 135-140)

Again, I love FBGs and will be back, just seeing if I missed something

I've posted some suggestions in the complaints thread so I figured I should drop in here as well since my experience has been 90% positive.

- The Top 200 is a great, great feature. Just incredibly valuable to me as a resource. (Although I still can't figure out why it's always a Top 200 before it comes out, then a Top 250 once it's posted.)

- Most of the issues with timing from previous years were addressed this year. Good work.

- Despite the many problems, the Shark Pool is still the best single fantasy resource in the world

- Instant e-mail updates during games are excellent

- etc., etc... very good work. Not to put any ideas in your head, but I'd pay three times your going rate for all this info evey year.

12 team auction style redraft league.

I won my division (again) but still have not been able to get over the hump and win the championship. That's just my bad luck though. I always have awesome teams...they just don't perform when the big money is on the line.

But I owe my consistent ability to make it to the playoffs to this site and especially all the homer advice.

Also, in the playoffs in my 32 team league (MFL) w/ IDP. This site provided alot of insight into deep sleepers and rookies that I used to get me into the playoffs...dependable contributors (Omar Gaither, Tony Scheffler, Gradkowski, Jarrad Page...etc).

Thanks FBG!

Tons of appreciation to FBGs!!!

I'm a sophomore FF manager and found this place last year when my team was headed for trouble (Javon Walker went down during my first game). I went on to win the whole thing despite losing P. Holmes too!!! That was enough to make me a believer.

This year I joined two very different leagues: one PPR, the other high performance. I used the Draft Dominator for both, and I'm in the Super bowl in both. I'm the chick to beat now! Playing against my husband in one, ha ha, but he knows my secret.

I had the dreaded 7th pick in the PPR league, but I trusted the DD to get P. Manning, A. Gates, K. Jones, F. Gore, and still got steals at WR in L. Coles and M. Muhammad in later rounds.

I also have to give kudos to some of the posters in the forums. That is where I first read about Colston, who helped me dominate.

This is the first year that I participated in the Subscription Survivor contest, and suprisingly really enjoyed that just as much as my leagues. I didn't make it past the 7th or 8th week, but I can't wait to try again next year.

My league mates are threatening to vote me out if I win my 4th championship in 8 Years (no one else has won twice in the 10 year league history). I own 5 of the top ten scores in league history and I believe 4 of the top five scoring seasons.

I was doing VBD Drafting on my own before I found you had a name for it but the info you provide and is great. I loved the projections dominator this year. With draft dominator I consistantly out-draft my leaguemates (they know this and complain about it) and this year I felt with projections dominator and draft dominator I had by best draft ever winning the league scoring title with only one significant ww pickup.

Thanks for the work you do.

Wanted to personally thank David Dodds for all the time and effort he puts in. I doubt that even a quarter of the subscribers have a grasp of how much he tackles each week.

Still no answers on this. What did you guys do that I may have overlooked?

Fantasy football is at least 60% luck. Those that lurk here ususally own the other 40% of the equation in their leagues and are more likely to overcome the 60% piece of the pie. You just happen to be one of the people who couldn't overcome the luck factor.

As always, much thanks and appreciation. I loved the preseason player debates. As always, I love the weekly matchup data. While FBG does not have a crystal ball, it is the best place to gather info to make the most informed and prepared decision. Great season.

I couldn't guess what you may or may not have done differently than anyone else here who did much better, but I can point to a possibility or two. The FBG product isn't an infallible set of rankings that will ensure you draft well, or infallible cheatsheets that ensure (if followed) that your team will perform to it's full potential each week. The product is simply information, with lots of explanations given for why FBG's staff ranks players where they do, and why they feel like certain players will benefit from a given matchup. The key to using all of this is to understand their rationale, and then decide for yourself whether they're on target or off target, and then make your lineup decisions accordingly. Even after doing all of that, there's still always going to be a very large luck component involved, but using the information well at least helps even the odds a bit.

In my big $ league ($500 entry, 12 teams), I'm i the Superbowl for the 4th time in 7 years. The year I started playing is the year I discovered cheatsheets.net. So thanks Joe B, Dodds, and the other staff.

Great new feature this year was the projection dominator. I wouldn't mind seeing that as a weekly feature - but not sure if the other staff want to share on a weekly basis.

:goodposting:

thank you football guys and especially the shark pool i am playing in my 3rd superbowl in 4 years. the suscription is well worth the price of admission. drafted reggie bush jones drew and vernon davis in akeeper league this year to name a few my team should dominate for years to come thank you so much :wall:

TY and Merry Christmas. As a result of the info and posters here I am always in the $ ( at least so it seems); I entered 5 leagues, only won one division but made the playoffs in 4, am playing for two championships today and the two losses I suffered were by a total of 3 points ( OUCH!) SO worth the $ 25

Just to follow up.I won that other championship game in my dynasty mentioned in my first post and also the third place the other. That makes it two championships and a third place in the three leagues I was in this year.

crapped out in my one dynasty league, but...

won 2 money leagues out right

i was waiting until the end, and though usually very reserved in commenting on anything.......FBG should be proud to know that this subscriber (and his partner, also an FBG subscriber) finished 4th overall in the WCOFF championship,(after winning the league title) won 2 of the 4 mrsports champion leagues and lost in the superbowl in another, won a mrsports semidynasty league, made the playoffs in 2 others, made playoffs in the High roller fantasy bowl league, and finished 10th overall in the fantasy jungle high stakes contest, also after winning the league title. Mrsports uses IDP's, and no we didnt have LT in any league except mrsporst champ league.

FBG is the only service i have subscribed to and have been a loyal reader since the days it was free! One can draw their own conclusions about the value of the service. I do not follow the rankings or predictions blindly, combining some knowledge of the game with the information provided to form my own conclusions.....but there is not a more complete and thorough site from what i have seen, and any serious player would have this tool in their bag.

FBG, you have the respect and admiration of a couple of top players in this game.

Been a FBG denizen many a year, now, and every year Joe & Co. has delivered great service, fantastic insight and commentary, and consistently sound predictions.

Some of the things I really appreciated this year were the fantasy roundtable (great collection of insight and topics), the fantastic pre-season coverage, and some timely matchup and waiver wire analysis.

And as much as I appreciate the staff, I want to throw out some chum to the Shark Pool: truly appreciate all of you board participants -- truly these free boards have, time and time again, been the true difference-maker for me year after year.

Special props to guys like Wheelhouse and MoP for their weekly threads that are always thought-provoking great reads. But really, special props and kudos to all of you for posting your insight, analysis, opinions and predictions. You make this hobby what it is.

As a board moderator, I want to thank all the Shark Pool/MB members for helping us keep the threads sorted to the correct boards (newbies often post ACF in Shark Pool, for example) and also the help policing the spammer threads is highly appreciated.

Without the cooperation of the board participants, the Shark Pool/ACF/Free for All wouldn't be nearly as good as they are. Those who are vigilant about reporting spammers know who they are -

Sincere Thanks. MW

While I have never won my league, I have made the playoffs the last four years and finished in the money thanks to all the info FGB provides.

I've been playing fantasy football since 1990 and I've been in the playoffs several times, I've had excellent teams only to lose in the second round of the playoffs but not this time, not this year. My record was 13-2, I broke all records in scoring in my league (that's been around just 7 years) and I won the title.

Most years I do a lot of prep work but this year I was swamped at work with server builds and my wife, 2 y.o. son and I moved into a new home just a couple of weeks before the draft which left me with zero prep work. I quit all my "casual" leagues and focused on the main league and leaned heavily on these boards and the FBG draft advice.

So anyway, thanks FBG and posters on here that have posted good advice, I was thrilled with my draft and very happy with my team this year!

Thanks again,

Kevin

3 leagues -- 2 SuperBowls -- 1 championship (overall best FF season so far)

Thanks FBGs!! Great info, analysis and tools -- as always!! Plus the Shark Pool

4 leagues this season, 3 Superbowl titles and one 3rd place finish after losing a close semi-final game week 15.

Been a FBG since 2003 and have always been a big fan. Love the message boards and the info you get by lurking the S. Pool Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Custom Cheat Sheets are awesome.

Preseason draft analysis is huge. It always helps me have a strong draft, which isn't the only ingredient in winning a league, but it sets the foundation for your season.

Keep up the great work, FBGs! Looking forward to next season.

Jay

I enjoyed FBG once again as well. I've been using this site goin back to the Cheetsheets days and it has always gave me good information. This year I finished 5th in both my leagues. I had a better team than 5th, but as we know it's fantasy and all it takes is one bad week and your out.

I believe the helpful tools are those Sunday updates that keeps everyone in front of the cpu waiting to see whether ones player is in or out. The Draft Dominator is the key to any team and their foundation. Without a succesful draft you will find it difficult to position yourself for the playoffs. The second key is to shore up a weekness and trade your depth to add a key component to your roster or adding a free-agent (Berrian, etc). Of course the injury bug can strike at any tiome, so to have depth and to avoid the bug is important as well. Finally, to make the right line-up choices weekly (play your studs) is a difficult decision when your deadline is near.

In my 12-teamer where we keep 7 players every year, I won our Toilet Bowl last year. This year, I did the following based upon info that I saw either on the subscriber content or in the Shark Pool, and won my league:

QBBC of Brooks, Favre, and Rivers :bag:

Drafted Ben Watson

Banked on Chris Chambers as my WR2

Oh, wait, this is the *appreciation* thread. Sorry... ;)

Traded down in our Rookie Draft to get Darrell Jackson :)

Traded Cadillac Williams for Carson Palmer in Week 2 after QBBC didn't look so hot

Pulled Frank Gore out of a trade offer after an EXTREMELY well-timed E-mail update from Joe in the pre-season about Barlow's impending trade to the Jets     :hifive:

From Toilet Bowl to Super Bowl, thanks FBG!

Thanks to all the FBG's (paid and not) this hobby remains as interesting and fun as it is frustrating. the winning and money are great, but if it wasn't fun then I couldn't give a whizznickey how I did.

The pre and during the season articles are great reads. The Podcast and Trader Joes were great additions this year.

I honestly paid to sit an an airport internet kiosk so i could catch the Random Shots and Wheelhouse tidbits for the week earlier in the season.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Thanks to all for a great year.

I got in on the mid-season special for the rest of this year and all next year for $25. You guys really helped me make the 2nd half of the season a solid one all the way to my 1st championship ever in my big money league. Money well spent! I'm jacked about next year already... :banned:

ID# 524399, yahoo.com (office league - 8th year in existence)

Total points league, 12 teams, redraft, TD heavy(no ppr), start 2 QB

Last year i skipped the subscription, 8th place - lowest in 8 years of playing

resubscribed this year - the cash, and more importantly the trophy, comes back home.

Just adding another THANK YOU for a great service! I used Footballguys.com for the first time this year for draft help and then continued to use all that was offered for the rest of the season. Needless to say I went from never getting past the 2nd round of the Playoffs to Winning my League! I've got such a strong team I'm going to have a hard time deciding who to designate as my 1 Keeper for next year, although LT has a pretty strong chance of getting that desination.
