FBG conflict of interest (1 Viewer)

I hate the fact that FBG staff(site owner in this case) is using fanduel (http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=670995 )while giving player rankings every week.

FBG site: hey suckers, use fanduel

FBG member: okay, checks fbg player rankings

FBG site: player x is going to have 50 yards player y is going to have 70 yards

FBG member: uses fanduel and starts player y against FBG staff that uses player x

player y has 20 yards player x has 123 yards. FBG site wins over FBG member

http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=667430&st=50 if you go here, you'll see how often FBGs is wrong and at first I thought it was because they were just bad but maybe now it could be because they want to make extra money off of us on fanduel

I would be more concerned, but it is pretty transparent. He isn't hiding playing. He provides fanduel specific buys/plays. Do you have any examples of his saying "this guys is awesome, play him, but don't play this guy" and then doing the opposite? Or is this all hypothetical?

Also, fanduel is a separate entity that has a larger support base than just fbg members. I get where you are coming from, but I have a hard time getting to your conclusion.

According to Dodds' own admission, FBGs is worth $4 million. To have him start a thread about winning $2000 would be like me starting a thread about finding a dime on the ground.

It does smack a bit of shameless self-promotion, and an attempt to further solidify the relationship with Fanduel.

Then why do you still go by their rankings if they are so bad? I've been winning more than losing on FanDuel and in all fantasy football using these rankings as a guideline. I just don't understand? Couldn't every rankings site be botching their rankings to win on FanDuel or other sites based on your logic?

there are no other sites, footballguys is by far the most popular site for fantasy football. other sites need to get that blindless following first then they can botch their rankings

Interesting to say the least...

I posted that I had been winning in FanDuel, because my weekly column has been very right the last two weeks. And people following it should have also likely won their bets. I don't see it as a conflict of interest, but will refrain from talking about it anymore (and just post my weekly column) to the site as I had been doing.

As for Buck Stop and his constant this site sucks comments, I am done with those. You obviously hate the site, think we are horrible at what we do so it's time for you to move on. There appears to be some ax you are looking to grind and I am done watching it play out on our message boards. You are effectively banned from our boards going forward.
