FBG Memorial for our fallen posters (1 Viewer)

Good/Bad idea? Too morbid?

Was thinking of starting a thread for the FBGs we have lost.

We have been on here long enough where even losing an ifriend touches all of us on some levels.

If this works I can add any other fallen FBGs

Thanks,

updated 1st post.

If anyone knows dates they passed I can add.

I can also add some basic info on how they passed and age as well

Saints-Man (Ralph) was 49 and passed away either December 28 or December 29, 2011. He had colon cancer, though I'm not sure "how" someone died is something we want to post?

how and when did Afro Samurai go???? I had no idea
Several (4-5?) years ago someone--I believe it might even have been his wife--came in and posted a thread that he had passed away. I believe he had cancer, but could be getting that wrong. If we had a working search function on this board, I'd find the thread.

I know, wasn't sure if that would be in poor taste but usually the 1st response upon hearing about someone passing is "what happened"

Yeah, I guess that is evidenced by the questions in this thread. :lmao: I suppose it's natural, when someone dies young.

I would like to add our search function to the R.I.P list

Judging by the number of surprised responses to some of the member's that passed, this thread is probably worth it for that alone.

thank you and thank fennis... wow..

How does one know if someone has passed away ?

Would be amusing to have a set length of time between posts (say 6 months) and then you get put on the " presumed dead " list.

I don't have any FBG links, but here is my notebook on this subject:

dprugby - David Pfaff was his name, he passed away from a rare form of cancer in July, 2013. Someone who knew him IRL updated the PS3 draft thread around that time. Sorry, I don't have a link to that thread.

Kestrel - Danny Lamers was his name. I think it was his brother (a FBG) posted about it. As Grateful Zed said above, not sure if that was ol' yeller or not.

dprugby was a nice guy to many FBGs on this board and was sad to hear about his passing when it was reported last year.

kestrel was the 1st person i remember reading about back in the ol yeller days. sad idea for a thread, but also a good one i think.

Wasn't there a poster named "Klecko" way back ... probably on the Old Yeller board? Or am I confusing him with someone else?

Kestrel was given an in memoriam member #273 on this board, but he died in the yellow board days.
