FBG Post NFL Draft Mock (1 Viewer)

Question: Are we assuming that this is a normal league, in which you could trade players partway through the year if you drafted great value? Or is this keep and hold?
We were thinking the same thing. :D

Assuming then that this is a normal league where trading will be allowed later:

Ronnie Brown and Andre Johnson

I'm not just going to leave RB value on the board for others who decided NOT to go with RBs early. If I do that, I've improved their teams and done them a disservice for thinking that they'll be able to do the same thing come August.

I should have know better I really was hoping Chrissy or Ronnie would slide. but that is the breaks. Gotta go out on a limb here.

Caddy Williams, RB - TB.

Hopefully garner and/or pittman get cut June 1 and Caddy can be the man.

I like Bledsoe's new toy:

Jason Witten DAL TE

Bledsoe loves the TE and with the WR's they have in Big D Jason could have a huge year.

4.05 I select Cedric Benson - RB - Chicago BearsAnalysis: Looking at the RB's left - value wise - I love the fact Benson fell to me here. IMO he's the most NFL ready back, and by this I mean the back that can come in and produce right away without needing much time to adjust. In a redraft league I have Benson ranked the highest of the Big 3 rookie backs. I'm definitely please with my top 4 picks right now of Ahman Green, Cedric Benson, Randy Moss, and Hines Ward.

4.6 JJ ArringtonI was debating between Benson & Arrington and had decided on Arrington. Looks like Benson will be sharing with Jones while JJ should see more touches. Further, I like the AZ oofense much better now that they have a decent QB & RB. They should be better balanced. I think JJ comes into the NFL underrated somewhat. Further, I doubt he's be there at my pick in round 5.

4.7 Warrick DunnI wasn't overly in love with any of the options at RB at this point now that the big 3 rookies are gone, but with the 1 ppr, Dunn is more than servicable.

4.08 Michael Clayton WR Tampa BayClayton will continue to improve and is already the #1 WR for his team. With Caddy keeping the defenses honest, Clayton will be tough again this year and I pair him with Chad Johnson as my two starting WR's.

4.09 Darrell Jackson

Can't pass up the #1 receiver on a great passing team. He's improved his receptions and yards each of the last three years, and has averaged about 7 TD's a year with the 'Hawks. The fact he goes up against the Rams, Niners, and Cards secondaries twice a year each doesn't hurt.

Sorry, dude. :notreally:

Ughh....I really dont like this slot right now. Not a huge fan of taking a tight end yet, the qbs seem all the same to me.....rbs arent doin much for me. I guess Ill take my #2 wideout, and bank on Steve Smith to come back strong for Carolina.

This guy was potentially top 10 going into last year. Now with Muhammed gone, he needs to make sure he is fully back to assume his go-to-guy role for Delhomme, who Im confident enough in to get him the ball consistently.

With my 4th round pick (4.11) I select Nate BurlesonI think he is top 10 this year. Williamson will stretch the defense leaving the under routes to Nate who excels at it.

I have to leave for work in 20 minutes so if it gets back to me in the 5th round let LHUCKS pick for me if he is around. If he's not here then whoever is here. If nobody picks then I will be back at 8 am to make the pick. C ya

With 4.12, I select: Laveranues Coles, WR, NYJ

PROS: He's back home in NY, and he should pick up right where he left off. Pennington used to love him, and they'll get right back to work.

CONS: NY is not a high octane offense, and likes to run the ball in the red zone.

CONCLUSION: Glad to get him, given the run on wideouts.

At 5.1, I select: Roy Williams, WR, DET

PROS: Big, fast receiver who had a nice rookie season. A huge red zone threat who should only get better.

CONS: Are there enough balls to go around in DET with the two Williamses and Charles Rogers? Will he have a sophomore slump?

CONCLUSION: After taking a safer pick in Coles, I'll go for the upside in my #2 wideout. Having Tony G will take off some of the edge if one of my wideouts doesn't pan out well.

With the next pick Gatekeeper selects:5.02 - Kevan Barlow- Only two true RB#1's left on the board.- A lot of parity left at WR now for the next 3 rounds or so(especially considering only a start 2 WR league)- TE is deep this year- No need for a QB with Peyton on the squad- Cheap Handcuff- First two RBs were shaky/unprovenA no-brainer if you ask me.Welcome to the squad Kevan...you'll make an excellent RB#3.

Really not a fan of this guy, never owned him, but maybe he is maturing at this point in his career. With my next pick I select Michael Vick. I figure I am in good enough shape with my 1st 4 picks to take the chance on him hitting his huge upside. I do like the fact that they have brought in a 1st rd receiver the last 2 yrs.

Thanks for stepping in for me LHUCKS. Barlow singlehandedly tortured me last year but that was as a 1st round pick. In the 5th he is good value. Thanks again and any pick for me after 8:15 pm, as long as this draft goes, I would like you to take.

There are many directions I could have gone with this pick.

First, kicker and defense are out. It's still way too early for even the best ones. There is good value at QB, but with McNabb in the fold already, that's not a concern either.

I've only drafted one receiver thus far, and thought about getting my second one here, but I like the depth the position provides, and am willing to wait it out.

That leaves RB and TE. Running back is a concern because even though I already have two, they are Priest and CuMart, both on the wrong side of thirty. I really need some insurance here, and came thisclose to picking it up with this selection, but there's a guy I've been looking at since my last pick. I was hoping he'd slide to this spot and he has. If he's not around I definitely pick up that RB, but he has, and acting on my desire for a top tight end, I select:

5.04 Todd Heap

The ankle's 100%. Mason and Clayton dramatically upgrade the receiving corps, and Boller has another year of development under his belt. I expect Heap to have a terrific year.

i pm'ed jeter and got family's picks too.Let's start the clock he's got till 12:30 and in all else fails, let Lhucks pick for him when time expires.

5.05 QB Tom Brady NEFor my QB I'll take the #1 winner in the game. His solid and steady production will continue and maybe even increase.

5.06 Duce StaleyI feel Duce is great value this late into the draft. Worst case scenario, Bettis plays and steals TDs, but Duce still racks up yardage and receptions. Best case scenario, Bettis retires and Duce is a huge steal.

5.08 - I select Jeremy Shockey - TE - GiantsAnalysis: With the addition of Plaxico Burress to team up with Amani Toomer, Shockey finally has two formidable wideouts to help take attention away from him. He should post career #'s this season, especially in the TD dept.
