Wow. By the look of things, it seems everyone in our league finished either 1st or 2nd in their group the first round. Gonna be tough. A lot of good guys aren't gonna make it to the final round. In soccer they call this the 'group of death'.

Looks like a lot of message boarders fighting for two spots to join me at the final table. A lot of you will be disappointed. I'm already hearing it from the other staffers that I'm playing in the JV league . . .

Well, speaking from someone who came from the league that took out both staffers (Dowling and Hicks), I see that only one staffer had the courage to participate in this league. That being said, you can tell the other staffers, David, that I would rather be in the other leagues. I joined this league because I could not do any other league. Let me be frank - I do not "like" some of the guys I see in here. When I say "like", I mean I do not like how dangerous they are to my advancing. I won't name names so everyone can think it's them! :lmao:

Franchise W-L-T Pct PF Avg PF BassNBrew 47-8-0 .855 908.6 181.7 I guessing those staffers wouldn't include Faletti or Rudnicki. League 5 kick the staff out to the curb. That being said, ConstruxBoy will be drafting for me on Friday as I will be traveling Friday evening. I've shared enough of my 47-8 wisdom that Yuds will be home for the holidays.

4 of the the top 5 winning percentages from round one-will play in this league. Not to mention Yudkin and a couple of other well known MB's are already in here too. It's hardly JV Yudkin  .

Yeah, but you have to downgrade that some since I'm drafting for Bass and all I did was finish 4th overall in this last year. :lmao:

After starting to do some work on my strategy-I am regretting the # 1 pick.
Yep, I think there was actually an advantage to being way down the list in draft order selection to see where guys were lining up and seeing where the smart money were positioning themselves.

Not sure if it was a goog move or not, but I intentionally selecte the #6 spot even though I had my choice of draft position. I figured that when drafting with sharks like you all are, this could become very unpredicatble very quickly. I didn't like the crapshoot of the first 4 picks, and I didn't like having to wait so long between picks if picking at the turn (11 or 12). I am hoping that instead of having a some studs, I can find some depth with decent quality players in the middle of each round. That way I can see (or start) runs and adjust accordingly. This may sound good in theory, but we'll see tonight.

Looking forward to tonight, although to be frank, I expect to be in over my head. I'm not sure I would have even made the cut had Miles Austin not gone all Jerry Rice.

Good luck to all.

Marvin has a full belly of wings!

Marvin is very sleepy!

Marvin wishes the draft was earlier!

Marvin wishes he could go to bed.

Marvin's gettin' upset! :banned:

Marvin doesn't think Miles Austin should last past the 3rd pick! :goodposting:

Marvin refers to himself in the 3rd person a lot!

Michael Turner went at 01.01. So the 01.01 picks so far:MJDFitzTurnerVery interesting...
I'm first tomorrow and considering all three of the above and two others. I'm trying to establish a very loose ADP based on these three drafts in order to decide how I want to approach the the first two corners, which are delayed by 3RR. It's a question of how I feel about the possible availability in tiers at those corners. WR or RB obviously influences 2.12 to some extent too. I love drafting from the corners.

QB's are: Romo/Orton/Favre/Kolb

Rb's are: Turner/Gore/ T. Jones/Buckhalter/Bernard

WR's are: Marshall/Holmes/Maclin/Garcon/Knox/Nelson

TE's are: Gates/Bennett

K's are: Kaeding/Carpenter

Def's are: Pittsburgh/Cincy/Denver

I predict a middle of the road team.

I'll let you know if I figure out why you took a 4th QB (the fact that I wanted him notwithstanding).

Pretty happy with this team. Good depth and no glaring bye issues. RB's will make or break me, as most have some questions surrounding them at this point, but overall I think this will get it done.

I was very happy with the way my draft started picking from the 12 spot:

WR S. Smith CAR

WR Jennings GB

QB A. Rodgers GB

RB R. Bush NO

RB Addai IND

But then the draft turned for me as I thought either Winslow or Witten would fall to me at my 6th pick, but both fell just short. I was forced to go "TE by platoon". Anyway...

Anderson, Derek CLE QB

Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB

I almost decided to go with only one QB as Rodgers has his bye behind him and has a favorable schedule. Some would argue that I did indeed only take one QB. :lmao:

Addai, Joseph IND RB

Brown, Donald IND RB

Bush, Reggie NOS RB

Morris, Maurice DET RB

Sproles, Darren SDC RB

Washington, Leon NYJ RB

I am fairly happy with RB, although I do not have a stud. But I do have a lot of PPR guys. I need to get a decent score week one with my Colts out, but after than I am assured one good RB score every week with Addai/Brown.

Crayton, Patrick DAL WR

Henderson, Devery NOS WR

Henry, Chris CIN WR

Jennings, Greg GBP WR

Naanee, Legedu SDC WR

Smith, Steve CAR WR

Obviously, the strength of my team. And 4 of these guys have already had their bye week,

Lewis, Marcedes JAC TE

Rosario, Dante CAR TE

Scheffler, Tony DEN TE

Watson, Ben NEP TE

What's to be said, I need one to step up every week.

Folk, Nick DAL PK

Longwell, Ryan MIN PK

I didn't get any I wanted. Thank goodness they are just K's.

Eagles, Philadelphia PHI Def

Packers, Green Bay GBP Def

This is where a potential top three team turned into a possible 4-6 team. I had the Mike Matusow blowup and decided I would try to create a panic in the shark pool by taking DEF's with back to back picks at 10.10/11.01. This hurt as only 3 DEF's came off the board before it got back to me. Oh well, I should not have any DEF problems as both have had their bye weeks and have very favorable schedules.

Overall, I have a chance! We'll see how we start out this week.

I realized that I should probably have taken a WR, but to be honest I didn't see any difference makers and decided to just take a shot at something outside of the box. If McNabb gets re-injured, he could be a gem from the 22 round.Honestly My Wr's are the weak part of my team-My success or lack of success will be determined by Maclin/Garcon/Knox/Nelson. QB's are so-so but deep, I like my RB's and TE, kicker and D are fine. It's just the WR's to worry about.I hated the 1 hole with not getting back to back picks in 2nd/3rd round.

I've done a quick look at the rosters. I really don't see a dominate team, it was a very competent draft from all. The teams I like (in no order):

Yudkin

Shadowfax

Jackal King

Captain Hook

It's hard to just look at teams and know who's looks best because the tendency is to view them as we would have viewed them preseason. It's all about matchups. Which leads me to now ask everyone how they drafted. Cheat sheets? Did you get DD to work (and work with updated projections)? Did you use LD? I personally used LD and weighted weeks 6-10 heavily. I got the feeling that certain other guys used LD with weeks 6-10 weighted heavily as well, but a lot of guys didn't. So what did you guys do?

I'm relatively happy with my draft -- studs at most positions.

QB: Drew Brees, Trent Edwards

RB: Adrian Peterson, Kevin Smith, Darren McFadden, Willie Parker, Julius Jones, LenDale White

WR: Dwayne Bowe, Braylon Edwards, Eddie Royal, Anthony Gonzalez, Jerricho Cotchery, Roy Williams, Deon Butler, Chansi Stuckey

TE: Dustin Keller, Anthony Fasano

PK: Stephen Gostkowski, Adam Vinatieri

TD: New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers

The only real clunker is Vinatieri. I've been writing and editing card backs for a couple of card sets the past few days and completely missed his injury. Oh well.

Good luck to all!
