FBGs Updated Projections (1 Viewer)

Rarely, if ever, do I see any changes made from the early projections to the later-in-the-week ones. What gives? Just one example that casually creeps up and splits my head with an axe....I get the update emails from FBGs that Cutler is all but replacing Plummer, right? So, that would lead any reasonable being with half a freakin brain to rationalize that unless the 8 guys (or however many) below him were going to score in the RED, they should move up....am I missing something here? So, is this just lazy filler that we continue to pay for year in and year out, or am I completely missing an asterisk somewhere on the site that is an exception to something? Projections are 'educated' guesses based on a whole heap of crap....an 'educated' guess that has Cutler starting and therefore, Plummer scoring ZERO - ZIP - ZILCH would lead me to the 'educated' guess that people like Grossman and Lossman and whoever is under him, would get at least ONE point and move up ahead in the projections. We pay good money for this crap, get interrupted by emails with 'breaking news' and this is what we get?

Oh well, I love you guys anyway and Draft Dominator makes it all worth the cash!

I'm pretty sure that the updated cheatsheets continue to apply to this current week. If Cutler starts, it would be week 13 and we have not released week 13 cheatsheets yet. There is also the possibility (I simply don't know if David Dodds does this) that we calculated where we believe Plummer would finish in week 12 when compared to the other QBs based on the stats he actually accumulated on Thursday. Is that responsive, or am I missing something in your complaint?

Uh Plummer played Thursday. Duh.So anyone with a clue, would assume this information would affect week 13. Duh.

no, my bad this time......you are right! I forgot about that...it must be the Thanksgiving day game.

right - I got it now....but seriously, plummer still didn't run up the stats or he wouldn't be getting yanked....I guess I just figured others would move up....

rarely, if ever, do i see any actual merit to people who post and bash on the FBG material. what gives? the projections are just projections and anyone with half a freaking brain should realize that you have to make your own decisions. you do kno wthat one person cannot predict with certainty the outcome of a buncha freakin NFL games, right? this is just one example that creeps up and splits my head with an axe...a subscriber going on a stupid rant instead of PMing a FBG because the current rankings dont reflect a QB change that will take the following week....am i completely missing something here? So, is this forum just a place for lazy people to come post their stupid threads to trash all over the site? or am i missing an asterik or something that says this is an exception or something? Posts are supposed to be "educated" posts, and education is based on a bunch of crap...plummer played this week so there should be ZERO ZIP ZILCH downgrading him for being benched next week. i spent a good amount of time reading this crap, to get interrupted with "problems" with the FBG projections, and this is what i get?

oh well - i love it for the entertainment value anyway!

Well, a quick check of the projections shows we still have Plummer projected at 198 pass yards 1.2 TDs and 1 INT and he had 216 pass yards, 1 TD and 1 INT

Gradkowski had 120 pass yards, 0 TDs 2 INTs and we had him ranked #31 for the week

Romo was ranked #5 in this week's cheatsheet.

There is the distinct possibility one of two things happened:

1) David looked at the actual stats from the games and decided that, even if they didn't exactly match his projections, the actual stats were close enough that he did not need to radically alter those QBs' ranking in relation to the other QBs.

2) It was Thanksgiving, we got all our content out by Wednesday, and, for the first time this year, family took precedence for a couple of days.

Either possibility sounds plausible.

The high accuracy of the above make me wonder just how great Peyton will do for me this week. If Romo is only 5th and he threw 5 TDs..... :D

not to bash anyone rankings but if romo finishes as the #5 qb this week we are all in for a ton of shootouts!!!!!

pretty sure that once a game is played, Dodds locks in those players where he had them ranked before that game. otherwise, folks would be blasting him for adjusting the cheatsheets to make himself look beter.

Not everyone checks that rankings sheet twice a week.

Some people just check it Sunday morning before their games.

Week 12 is not done yet. The projections are always updated right up to the games Sunday morning. Having six teams play early this week is messing you up (not sure how they are adjusting for this). It will happen a few more times with a few Saturday games going on during the season.

:2cents:

Aside from this topic, perhaps a green arrow meaning moving up or a red arrow meaning moving down as the week progresses and new information is found out.

I have taken the overall material to the bank for several years now. This year is an exception so far. Our team is only producing moderate #'s, although I continue to look for the next diamond.

What can you do when Holt goes cold, your #1 RB gets injured, and your kicker gets you only 2 points last week (Vinatieri)? My answer is to let go of the attachment.....and become more Zen like. So what? Let it be.

The information here provides for a well rounded opportunity to atleast put forth ones best options. Does it always work, of course not.

I know it must be a lot of work tweaking the projections as the week unfolds. I can guarantee that if any of you are like me, I check and scour for every detail I can. I want to know what's going on.....putting my best odds to play.

I am grateful.

Exactly. I don't work for FBG, but that's how it is. Only the Top 250 Forward applies to next week and beyond - the cheatsheets are THIS week with THIS matchup. Like most others here, I'm sure you don't follow the cheatsheets or Top 250 blindly, ut it's a good way to get an external, unbiased opinion on values. So with that said, I WOULD like to see the Top 250 forward be a "live" thing as much as possible though - if we're going to consider a guy like Cutler after the announcement but this week's top 250 has already come out, I would love to know where others would see him. (Maybe a rookie QB in this case is a bad example, but you get the point).
