Michael Boulware (SEA) – Boulware was rated #8 DB overall on FFG, and I drafted him for his linebacker mentality -- so far have been pretty disappointed. Yes, he did get me an INT, but only realized one solo tackle. Against Detroit in week 1, he only produced 2 solo and 2 assisted tackles. Is this a bad sign of things to come or did it have anything to do with facing two pass-oriented offenses?

Thomas Davis (CAR) – A hybrid player (our Yahoo league has him listed as LB/DB, which provides nice flexibility), Davis looked very strong in preseason, flying to the ball and realizing a lot of tackles. With Morgan out, I would have thought that Davis would pick up part of the tackle-pie, but 3 solos/2 assists, just isn’t all that impressive. The week before against heavy run-oriented Atlanta, Davis only had 3 solos/1 assists. Again, much like Boulware, I picked up Davis for tackle production – will he evolve into a tackling machine, or does Morgan’s absence somehow negate his potential.

Thanks in advance for any insight provided.

Imho, Boulware was overrated here. Maybe he'll have a great year. It's too early to give up on anyone (*cough* I hate Ed Reed *cough*). My take on Boulware is that he isn't a very good down in down out football player. A dedicated hard worker, a solid hitter, a decent tackler, and all those good things. But he seems physically limited by a lack of foot speed and instincts. He was the goat of the Super Bowl, imo. And while the scheme puts him in position to gather stats, he just isn't that great of a player. I certainly wouldn't consider him a must start. But he's still a hold depending on your roster.

Davis is a player we've all been waiting for. The sky seems like the limit for him, but who knows? There's going to be more misses than hits in projections, and this is the type of player that is ripe to be overrated. If the Panthers put him in position to be one of the Ds primary playmakers, he'd probably be a star. Definite hold in dynasties, probable sell in redrafts.

I agree that Bouleware is overrated. He was consistently ranked high on FFG last year, and was often a disappointment. I don't why all the love for Bouleware, but I'd move elsewhere.

Davis is a SLB and has the TE blocking him to deal this. Right now with Morgan out and Diggs dinged it's hard to get a read on the Carolina sitaution. Long term I like Seward(if MLB) and Anderson(if WLB) better. Diggs has had injury problems the last few years and think Anderson will be the will.

It may take awhile though. Unsettled right now.

I am about fed up with Boulware. He has been nothing but a disappointment. And don't even get me started on Ed Reed. A goose egg....a freaking goose egg! :wall:
