He came off after the long run up the sidelines.....and dude it's 8 mins after the game, easy on the link stuff. The info is correct as I listened to the PC.Edit-It should be OK, but they are going to check him out.

if you watched the game you know something happened, they said knee strain during the game, who knows if thats even accurate. good work on starting the thread tho.

I said this in the game thread, and I'll add it here too. I've watched the play several times and cannot see anything that would have tweaked his knee. That's probably good news and it's probably minor. He is starting to earn the fragile rep though.

Or perhaps he is one of the few willing to hit his highest gear and ride out the play.
I love Felix, but he's never carried a large load. there has been a lot of guys who hit their highest gear without getting hurt every time.If he was durable he'd be a top 5 RB, but banking on that is like banking on lehman brothers.Mustang Man

Felix will be fine, and the Cowboys do not need him to be an every down back sense they have 3 rb's that could be starters. When Felix is healthy Dallas is a threat to have a big play every time and as the season goes on will be unstoppable. I mean when Dallas runs their version of the wild cat and has Choice in the back field getting the snap and Felix running on a reverse that is almost impossible to defend. Dallas will lead the league in rushing this year and will not fade down the stretch because of it. Mark it down. The funny thing is Romo will not have to do it all and then the haters will say Dallas is winning because they are not depending on Romo.

I missed the game... when did he go out? Blurbs from Yahoo made it seem Jones went out early and Choice didn't get carries until F Jones was out--
But highlights from the link in the thread said 3rd Q... and Felix only had 8 carries when they showed his stats to that point...

choice had 3 carries when Jones went out. He really didn't see much action until Jones was injured.

He does seem to get dinged up every time he plays. I agree that he is a very talented RB, but I don't think he could ever be an every down back. I think he and Barber compliment each other very well. Felix is very fast and shifty, and Barber is a battering ram and blocks the best. Choice did a fine job last night too.

I think Dallas has the RB's to have an elite running game, but I also think that right now in your division, the Giants and Philly are both better teams than the Cowboys at this point.

Regardless of the injury I am wondering if he is worth carrying on my roster. At this point I don't think I would ever feel comfortable starting him...

OK so if the Giants had 4 turn overs when they played Dallas week 2 and Dallas a 0 turn overs what do you think the score would have been. I can guarantee you Dallas would have blOWn that Great Giant team out instead of having to Take a 2 minute drive and kick a last second FG like the Giants did to ekk out a win. If you think the Giants are so much better then Dallas you are blind and a hater. Dallas is right there with both of these teams period. Get use to it.

Im not saying the guy is not talented cuz he clearly is but I wont have any confidence starting a guy with a career high of 9 touches that always seems to get dinged. I just saw the replay of the run again and I still dont see how he got hurt. I think you may be a bit blinded by your homerism. I definitely do not think Dallas is awful, but they are not there with NYG or Phili - at least not yet. The Dallas D has got to get things together. They did better last night, but that was against a putrid Carolina team. They've allowed 450 yds to Tampa, 427 yds to NYG, and 284 total yards to Carolina.

Umm...he said they were better...not "so much better".And your little if the giants...blah blah...well, the Giants did not have them...the Cowboys did, and its part of what makes the other teams better.The Giants went to big D, opening night and took the win...they have been the better team for a few years now. I agree, I really have no idea what happened. I posted - not sure if it was in this thread or another - that he needs to talk to Tiki about conditioning. After a few of his runs he looked winded, really winded. And that shouldn't happen at all. He's gotten by on sheer talent, and now he's in the NFL, he needs to be better conditioned. The Cowboys are terrible at conditioning, and Arkansas had almost no weight program at all.From what I understand, Felix was "well enough" to play again, but the put a brace on his knee as a precautionary measure, and he felt like he couldn't run with the brace. I understand that, braces are freaking bulky. But you know, at some point as a professional football player, you need to go to the sideline, take a pain shot or whatever is needed, and get back in the game.Bottom line is - the kid is among the most talented players at his position in the NFL. But, he needs to work hard to stay on the field. Otherwise that talent is completely wasted.

I don't hate the guy, he certainly has talent but he is just way too brittle to count on.

Yeah in my league there is no flex spot, just RB1 & RB2. Ultimately Ill probably keep him because he does have value and I can use him as a RB2 in a pinch. But I wouldnt have any confidence in starting him and thus hed probably be one of the last options Id start and thus is a candidate to be cut. I think you're just looking at the final score. Dallas earned every point they got in that game, cant say the same for the giants. I think they got EXTREMELY lucky to win that game.

His play last night where he made that corners knees buckle was sick.
The local radio theory here is that he gets hurt a lot because he's not running five yard dive plays. He doesn't get hurt on those. He gets hurt because he averages 8 yards a carry often breaking into the open field, getting up to full 4.3 speed, and then getting tripped up usually in some crazy manner. The guy knows nothing but top gear once he's in the open field.
I'm not saying I agree with this. I think he's soft. I'm just reporthing the theory I heard.

Not sure what to make of it - is it precautionary? They fitted him for a brace, which means there definitely WAS concern about the soundness of the knee's structural integrity. That's the purpose of a brace.Is the ligament sprained, strained, or torn? That will make a huge difference on the length of recovery.
Interesting note at the end about Barber. Close, but needed to sit for medical reasons? That doesn't sound close to me. We'll see but I'm guessing he sits next week as well.
I'm guessing Jones and Barber are OUT next week (maybe listed as probably and questionable on the Injury Report), but are back after the BYE week.
